Regards.

Ady Croasdell Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Hi Andy,as far as I'm aware U.K.RELEASE ONLY,but read in some fanzine it was down for release on U.S.Loadstone but for whatever reason it didn't happen! anybody confirm or deny? Regards. Yeah, it was a Loadstone release that never made it, just came out on a license from Loadstone in the UK. The Columbia version is more laid back and crossoverish on one of the Classiest rareties CD, it's a lovely version and probably the original.
Souljer6 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Could I pop my head above the parapet and suggest it is their BEST ever record? Particulary sublime is the slower cd version.
bri pinch Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 REMEMBER BUYING THIS TWO OR THREE TIMES IN THE 90T'S FOR A FEW PENCE WHEN IT WAS A NOWT RECORD. SADLY DIDN'T HAVE THE SENSE TO KEEP ANY OF EM LONG ENOUGH BRI PINCH
KevH Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 just sold my minty mint DEMO Finger on the pulse Peggy...
Sebastian Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Is this the same Eddie and Ernie who did 'I Cant Do it' Yes. A bit weird that "Indication" is credited to a duo though. As far as I can hear there's only one person singing!
Northern295 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 not trying to be too fussy, but the record credits are ERNIE & ED...not the other way around.....
Keithw Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 great tooon still got mine / hee hee wasnt ERNIE the fastest milkman in the west errr i,ll get me coat -- uk only joke

Benji Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Just played it on RefoSoul, instant winner to me! Sounds like a Carolina beach scene track to me and in parts reminds me of Soul Inc. - My proposal. Wish I had known it earlier when copies were cheap.
KevH Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Could I pop my head above the parapet and suggest it is their BEST ever record? Particulary sublime is the slower cd version. I've said this before on previous Ernie & Ed thread - lyrically i rate this as one of the best ..
Colsoul Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 the flip its a beautiful world is also sang by jacquiline jones on loadstone great recording, col
Guest Mrs M Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 My copy is a british JayBoy but wasn't it released on US Eastern? Only issued anywhere on UK Jayboy , maybe you are thinking of the brilliant " Outcast " on Eastern ? Cheers ,Eddie You are correct Eddie and it just goes to prove that alcoholic influence and my memory going down hill are not good for my knowledge these days. Looks like a Dave Molloy's "quick fire" knowledge of soul music quiz may come my way any time soon!!! Julie M x
Alan Walls Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 What's the going rate for this lovely tune?
Guest Bearsy Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 What's the going rate for this lovely tune? seen them sell for as less as £50 and as much as £100 so somewhere in between probably about right
paultp Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 seen them sell for as less as £50 and as much as £100 so somewhere in between probably about right And just to confuse the issue JM auctioned one a year or so ago and it went over 300 quid

KevH Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 And just to confuse the issue JM auctioned one a year or so ago and it went over 300 quid May well have been an issue Paul, but i'm sure the dj went for £167 recently on JM's.Worth every penny.
Guest Bearsy Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 May well have been an issue Paul, but i'm sure the dj went for £167 recently on JM's.Worth every penny. How can you tell the difference between a demo or Issue ?? is it something simple like "demo" on the label, mine hasnt got any Indication of demo on it and is there a price differnece or the demo/issue being a harder copy to find etc etc has anyone got a picture of both they could post up please
Guest Bearsy Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 any idea what the "A vegetable promotion" on the label means ??
dthedrug Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 is this the original release as i can only find scans UK style with the fixed centre on the jay boy label wondered if there was a previous release HI ALL ,,, I LIKE BOTH SIDES OFF THIS TRACK, UNRELEASED IN THE US (COULD BE A COMPANY DEMO) THIS TYPE OF SOUND AND WHY THE UK COMPANY WANTED IT, MUST HAVE BAFFLED THE YANKS, OR CONFUSED THEM AT LESSER. SO OBSCURE IS IT, THAT WHEN I GOT 15 COPY'S STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PRESIDENT WAREHOUSE, BY JIM SILLES & DOG EYE DAVE, IN FACT IT IS THROUGH THIS SOURCE THAT MOST OF MY PRESIDENT COLLECTION COMES FROM, IT HAD MANY LABELS AND OBSCURE ARTIST, WHEN THEY GOT THE ED & ERNIE JAY BOY RECORD, THE SHELVES STILL HAD SOME STOCK, IN MOST NUMBERS EXCEPT RAY MERELL? THE QUESTION IS WHY? AS JIM SILLES WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR GAINING HIS FOOT THROUGH THE DOOR, HOWEVER IT IS CLEAR TO ME SOMEONE ELSE IN THE KNOW TOOK THEM AS THE RECORDS SHOW THERE WAS 75 RED A DEMOS & ONLY 50 ISSUES, THESE AMOUNTS WERE COMMON PLACE AT PRESIDENT (I STILL HAVE A FEW 200 CARTONS WITH RELEASE # WRITTEN OB THEM' SO THE ED AND ERNIE ARE JUST AS RARE AS THE RAY MARREL. I DID FIND A DEALER WITH A FEW RED A DEMOS AT NEC 20 YEARS BACK, AS I HAD NO CASH I TOLD PEP ABOUT THE DEAL I MADE £50 EACH, BUT PEP BEING THE MAN HE IS WANTED THEM AT £20 EACH , THE DEALER TOLD HIM TO PISS OFF, AND I LOST THE DEAL/ SO WHO DID GET THEM, I USED TO THINK IT WAS PETE WID OR IAN CLARK . I NOW NO I WAS WRONG BUT IT WAS ONE OF THEM?? ON CERTAIN RECORDS LIKE THE 2 MENTIONED THE DEMO IS NOT AS RARE AS THE STOCK COPY. BUT WE ALL LIKE THA BIG RED As DAVE KIL

Just 75 demo's and 50 issues Dave?.
Dave Pinch Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 AS Dthe Drug says, there are red A demo's.Again cant be 100%,but think the demo on JM's had the A on "Beautiful world" side. Just 75 demo's and 50 issues Dave?. well ive had 3 issues all from markets in an around the barnsley area, there must have been plenty of others kickin around who had the same luck as me and bri at the time. demo must be much rarer. a 45 thats never really done it for me. wish i still had one coz i`d sell it lol dave
