Love Trap-T.D. Valentine!

Both big floor fullers back in the day.

Still got a soft spot for them both.

The stand out crap record that I bought blind, I knew it was getting spins at Wigan, and it was at a time that I was not going.

Anyway I got this from the States having never hearing it 1st.......

Ben Zine "Village Of Tears" and on playing it at home WTF is this shite.

I swapped it for Frank Dell "He Broke Your Game Wide Open" within a week!

Nothing crap about "Tears" my friend. Nothing. Great beginning. Great hook. Great song about 3.30am at the Casino.

H&M is one of mine too, bought it cause it was on a UK label. Had heard it before from a tape but it sounded crap at home and never listened to it since.

A "dont believe what you read in fanzines" purchase for me was Eydie Gorme - Everybody Go Home.

I have got to admit I still like The 8th Ave Band, Mecca memoires and all that.

Yes Bill Cosby is shite.

Wtf was I thinking...

As for Tears Webby, as has already been said, total classic. I reckon these threads are designed by you to go off-topic by post no. 2 or there abouts. :wicked:

The burden has been heavy on my mind for many a moon but I now feel able to hold my head above the parapet and confess to buying, in a drunken moment, two tapes by The Bachelors. I didn't have a tape player for starters... therefore, I paid for the items and contacted the Ebay seller telling him not to send them

The Expressions - Round & Round in Circles on EMI

Marbleheart - The Jaws of Love on Tommy

These two are without a doubt the worst I have ever bought , heard played at a nighter , or had the misfortune to see fill the main room floor at The Casino ...........I can't even claim I was smashed when I bought them , which probably condems me to a million years in pergutory when I die

I've no excuse really

It must have been the smooth vocal in "Dizzy" that did it for you at the time.laugh.gif

That will take some beating.laugh.gif

Dregs and barrel spring to mind. Stop Girl is actually a good garage tune, but God knows what I saw in it, especially being

holier than thou over all the British label pop that people like Minshull and Nev Wherry were spinning that year. We all have skeletons. :-)

Eydie Gorme was my finishing record to end the night when I DJ'd at Central in Leeds.

I always liked it bit it sure did make everybody go home.

I'll tell you something, crap or not, it must be rare.

Try putting Eydie Gorme into search on E-BAY, OR GEMM.

You'll find loads by her, but you won't find that.

I truly believe that some records sound brilliant according to where you are and whom you are with and what drugs you may or may not have taken Also how loud they are can make a massive difference..

Also your state of mind.

They aren't all meant to sound fantastic in any circumstance whatsoever. (well perhaps they were MEANT to but it doesn't always work that way.)

When I bought L.ALLEN CAN'T WE TALK IT OVER from the late Pete Lawson a couple of years before he died I paid £150 for it which was about the going rate then.

I got home a couple of all-nighters later and I went to my shop with (sadly, also passed away, Billy "Whiz" Rollins.)

I was coming down like hell.

I put the record on to cheer myself up, and I said to Billy,

This is f****** shite, what a waste of money.

Billy said:

"No it isn't , Swish, you're knackered out, you're coming down, it only seems that way now"

he was right I adore the record. and always shall.

Just had one of those coffee spluttering moments.

I loath Janice (is it skip Mahoney?).

I/ve never liked that in any condition/circumstances.

I'm sure a certain all-nighter guy who knew I hated it used to especially ask for it to br played.

Oh, mind you I never bought it so it doesn't really fit in with this thread.

Recently I bought Brenda Holloway CD-My love is your love. What a pile of tripe!

I love all her original 60's records but most of these...........dear me.
