Have moved remaining items to trades and swaps but cash always an option too of course.

The Innersection - let me love yuh (Group 5) £350

Awesome x-over dancer of course and still packs dancefloors wherever it's spun. Labels v clean indeed and vinyl too; the odd v light mark is all. There is a tiny (and I do mean tiny - about the size of two pin heads) 'chip' (that's sounds a bit melodramatic actually) on the very edge of the lmly side. No dramas really but wanted to mention it; once it's queued-up, you can hear one v small and quick 'tick' on the first rev then off you go.

Venturas - baby be mine (Daniels) REDUCED £165

Spare copy of this fantastic Chicago group dancer which is now getting the spins it so richly deserves.

Lela Martin & the Soul Providers - you can't have your cake and eat it too (Melatone) REDUCED £80

This is an old school gritty, really uptempo dancer of course, originally spun by Pat Brady back in the day if I'm not mistaken (but probably am). Great condition and a very, very reasonable price too I think. Giving it away ...

Rose Brooks - I'm moaning (Soul City w/d) REDUCED £160

Label on one side has signs of very faint ringwear but otherwise a dead nice copy of a great record IMHO

The Deans - (lady of the) Caravan (Star-maker) REDUCED £90

Pink, stamped first issue of this early Detroit rarity. Quirky and catchy as a quirky, catchy thing and includes some pretty high-level flute action; gotta love that.

Visitors - what about me / my love is ready ... (TRC) REDUCED £40

Few marks and I'd say a very decent vg+ overall, probably better. WAM seems to be getting played at most of the more prgressive nights in the NW at the mo and rightly so, top notch dancer that always gets em up.

Entertainers - love in my heart (Symbol w/d) £70

Rarer w/demo. Great upbeat dancer in at least vg++ condition and at what I think is a v good price

Godoy Colbert - I wanna thank you / baby I like it (Revue) REDUCED £50

Reduced still further :D. Current spins for Jumpin Joan among others and two really great dancers back-to-back.

Mac and Barb & the Gamuts - hold me tighter (Pyramid) REDUCED £75

And now for something completely different ... ... not everyone's bag by any means, what with it's haunting quirkiness. Did have nighter spins a few moons back and just sounds like an all-nighter record IMHO. Whatever, it's certainly a damn sight harder than the 75 quid I'm asking for it. I'd say it was at least a strong vg+ condition; the odd low-level bit of background crackle here n there but nothing much. Genuine bargain

Tony Diamond - don't turn away (Blue Rock w/d) REDUCED TO £65

Slightly grubby labels and lots of very fine but light marks that don't affect play to any real extent at all. So, high class record which books at 200 mint and which has retained it's credibility among the 'connoisseurs' over the years. Always thought this sounds magic over a system. Can't really be done can you?

Thelma Lindsey - prepared to love you / why weren't you there (Magic City) £200

One of the all-time great Detroit double-siders IMHO. Two awesome dancers, take your pick.

Roy Handy - baby that's a groove / monkey see - monkey do (Stephanye) £30

This'll take you back to that misspent youth. Strong vg++ at worst

Kelly Brothers - love time (Sims) £25

Precisely as per Roy Handy above

The Night Watch - lips to your heart (abc w/d) REDUCED TO £25

What might best be described as a manic "blue-eyed stomper", or words to that effect anyway. Certainly remember it seeing plenty of action at Morecambe mid 80s but strongly suspect it hit the odd turntable at various nighters long before that. You know when people talk about forgotten oldies, well here's one on a clean white demo for just 25 quid.

Broadway Express - what love can do (I&D) £50

Another that's hugely synonymous with Morecambe to my ears. Seemingly forgotten and a third of the book price. A nice vg++

Misty Moore - little things (Pzazz) £90

Great underrated west coast dancer. Formerly covered-up as Cheryl Ann and a record that really needs a push again IMHO This copy has a fair number of v light marks but they dnap. Easy vg++ I'd say

Jimmy Helms - that's the way it is (Oracle) £60

Started to get mentioned in one or two despatches again recently. Very, very good semi-known uptempo dancer and not that easy to pick-up. If you had a punt on it 'blind' I don't think you'd be disappointed - clip in refo though so no need :D

Lou Roberts & the Marks - ten to one (MGM demo) £35

Quality oldie for next to nowt.

Charades - love of my life / can't make it without you (Okeh) £45

Really nice issue copy; most of em I've seen have been demos. Very good record too IMHO.

Thanks for having a look. I hope there's something of interest and at the right(ish) price for you. If so, or if you fancy a civilised haggle, drop me a PM and I'll get back to you asap.

Morning. I'm letting one or two nice 45s go either side of Xmas for various reasons. i've listed a handful of these records before but you'll find those are reduced here. You'll also see some new bits n bobs including the odd tasty thing.

Things are tight for most of us at the mo financially so, as ever, I'll consider reasonable offers and decent trades (see bottom of the post for records I'd be most interested in if you are thinking of trading or a part-x). Usual script:

- All in at least Ex condition unless stated (where I think something is less than Ex I've included a fuller description because I want you to be satisfied, not disappointed);

- I've graded conservatively I think but, as ever, money or trades straight back if you're in any way unhappy;

- Payment via paypal (as gift) preferred: Philip@threlfall.fsbusiness.co.uk but concealed cash and cqs ok too

- Will post anything that's sold asap this coming week;

- I'll do Sp Delivery UK on anything over £100 and insure for full value. Anything else / postage to Europe etc will depend on how you want em sent of course.

Right, the first four records listed below have 'offers over' and a minimum figure next to them as you can see. Not as complicated as it might seem; no auctions, time-scales etc involved. If you fancy the record just offer me what you think it's worth over and above the minimum. If it's near enough to what I'm looking for it's yours and I'll confirm straight away and mark it as sold.

SALES

1. Big Don's Rebellion - it was true (Ethon) OFFERS over £275

Fantastic record of course and this is a white demo which, as far as I'm aware, is the rarest [of the three] format. Address (neatly) stamped on flip.

2. Jimmie & The Entertainers - new girl (Toddlin Town)

OFFERS over £500

One of the real Stafford biggies C/U as Johnny Hampton as I recall. Rarely seems to turn up for sale these days in any condition. Vinyl is a conservative vg++ with only a few v light marks which dnap. New girl label side has D.J. Copy stamped down one side and the word 'Brochu' has been written in pen on the label on this side too. It's not massive or orrible but there nonetheless.

3. The Innersection - let me love yuh (Group 5)

OFFERS over £350

Awesome x-over dancer of course and still packs dancefloors wherever it's spun. Labels v clean indeed and vinyl too; the odd v light mark is all. There is a tiny (and I do mean tiny - about the size of two pin heads) 'chip' (that's sounds a bit melodramatic actually) on the very edge of the lmly side. No dramas really but wanted to mention it; once it's queued-up, you can hear one v small and quick 'tick' on the first rev then off you go.

4. Frankie Beverly & The Butlers - because of my heart / I want to feel I'm wanted (Fairmount demo)

OFFERS over £1150

Right ... this record isn't fresh off ebay or part of a mythical 'load' that have turned up, are about to etc etc. It has passed between three collectors including myself over the last few years (the other two lads are fairly high profile djs for what it's worth).

This copy was originally pressed off-centre, as one or two other copies I know of are too, and so one of the aforementioned lads has inserted and fixed a plastic piece into the centre hole to alleviate any, erm, off-centredness. Job's a good un; it is centred spot on and plays without any problems whatsoever. The more picky amongst us might argue that the bit of plastic in the centre maybe looks a tad unsightly. and you may be right. Personally, I've never been in the least bit bothered by it and have certainly never wanted or attempted to remove it. (I'll push my IT skills to the limit by trying to sort a scan later today which I can then send to anyone who is genuinely interested and PMs me).

Conservatively, I'd grade labels as a strong vg+ visually and vinyl is better than that (nice vg++ and close to Ex I'd say). One or two light marks but nothing major at all. One of the very best double-siders of all time of course and available for what I think will be reasonable money considering rarity and quality. Quite simply, I don't play it as often as I should and need some cash so ...

5. Venturas - baby be mine (Daniels) £175

Spare copy of this fantastic Chicago group dancer which is now getting the spins it so richly deserves.

6. Lela Martin & the Soul Providers - you can't have your cake and eat it too (Melatone) £90

This is a real uptempo gritty dancer of course, origianlly spun by Pat Brady back in the day if I'm not mistaken (but probably am). Great condition and a very reasonable price too I think / hope.

7. Rose Brooks - I'm moaning (Soul City w/d) £165

Label on one side has signs of very faint ringwear but otherwise a dead nice copy of a great record IMHO

8. Rufus Lumley - I'm standing (Holton) £150

Immaculate, stamped and an absolute winner of a quality oldie.

9. The Deans - (lady of the) Caravan (Star-maker) £100

Pink, stamped first issue of this early Detroit rarity. Quirky and catchy as a quirky, catchy thing and includes some high-level flute action; gotta love that.

10. Visitors - what about me / my love is ready ... (TRC) £45

Few marks and I'd say a nice strong vg+ overall, probably better actually. WAM seems to be getting played just about everywhere in the NW at the mo and rightly so, top notch dancer.

11. Entertainers - love in my heart (Symbol w/d) £70

Rarer w/demo. Great upbeat dancer in at least vg++ condition and at what I think is a v good price

12. Bobby Long and the Dealers - I gotta have love too (Old Town) £70

Recall this having plays at Wilton in the past. High class x-over which I think will have it's day. Copies aren't everywhere either to the best of my knowledge (I could look v stupid v quickly anytime now ...). Paid more than this for it.

13. Festivals - hey girl / check it out (Blue Rock) £50

Take your pick, two equally good sides and another that's not that easy to get hold of. Recent spins at J17 and elsewhere; good un :D

14. CODs - coming back girl (Kellmac) £200

Listed this some time ago and no takers at the time. Thumping, uptempo Chicago (on vol 1 of the Chicago CD) and cheap enough IMHO for what I believe is quite a hard record these days. Anyway, if it doesn't fetch 200 quid it's going straight back in my box, no dramas.

15. Godoy Colbert - I wanna thank you / baby I like it (Revue) £55

Another that's relisted and reduced. Current spins for Jumpin Joan and two great sides

16. Del Chontays - baby I need you (Steeltown) £140:D

Absolute bargain now is this old Saus c/u. Storming record always reminds me of the late 80s / early 90s when I was fit enough to dance to records that were more than mid-tempo for more than 30 seconds without blowing out of my a*se for the next hour - happy days and good gear :D

17. Mac and Barb & the Gamuts - hold me tighter (Pyramid) £80

Another that didn't go last time. And now for something completely different ... ... not everyone's bag this by any means, what with it's quirkiness and all. Did have nighter spins a few moons back and certainly a damn sight harder than the 80 quid I'm asking for it. I'd say it was at least a strong vg+ condition; the odd low-level bit of background crackle here n there but nothing much. Bargain

18. Edwin Starr - you're my mellow / my kind of woman (Ric Tic demo) £80

Another that's stayed put so I've knocked a bit more off the original price (which I thought was cheap anyway  ). Demo is infinitely harder than the issue and while this copy has a few marks and would be vg+ or maybe a tad better visually, it plays absolutely great and I've played both sides out several times.

19. Tony Matthews - my wish (Convoy) £400

I've always really rated this as a mean n moody nighter record since the halcyon days when Gaz K first used to wax lyrical about it's "viking horns" I'm taking a bit of a hit on this at £400; great record for someone at that money IMHO. V slight ring on one side of label but that's about it. Another that I won't mind putting back on the shelves if I'm honest ...

20. Tony Diamond - don't turn away (Blue Rock w/d) £75

Slightly grubby labels and lots of very fine but light marks that don't affect much at all audially. Plays great and a lot of record for 75 quid or thereabouts!

21. The Night Watch - lips to your heart (abc w/d) £30

Think this is what might best be described as a "blue-eyed stomper" or words to that effect. I can certainly remember it getting played fairly regularly at Morecambe but strongly suspect it saw action long before that elsewhere ... ... one for the traditionalist.

Right, that'll do. If I've mis-priced anything do please let me know and, as I say, I'll always have a look at sensible offers and trades. Do bear in mind though that some of these are already rock bottom and I'm taking a hit as it is.

Possible Trades / Part Ex on more expensive stuff

If you're keen on trading or part-xing against one of the more expensive bits just send me a PM with what you've got available. Cash is the preferred option ideally but if you've got any of the following 45s and are prepared to trade or px either way we'll definitely be able to sort something out - and maybe even if you haven't.

All these are 60s but a right mixed bag in terms of rarity, values etc. I could easily end-up owing you quite a few quid  (Always worth a list though I reckon, y'never know):

Saxie Russell - psychedelic soul (Thomas); Innocent Bystanders - frantic escape (Atl / Pam); Sharon McMann - got to find another guy (Karen); Little Johnny Hamilton - oh how I love you (Dore); Daisy Burris - four strong winds (Deesu); Chryslers with the Monarchs (Je Jody);Versatones (Magic City); Freddie Houston (Old Town); E Rodney Jones (Tuff); Frank Howard and Commanders (Barry); Falcons - good good feeling (Big Wheel); Clarence Reid (Wand); Four Andantes (Modo); Martells (A La Carte); Four Pros - everybody's got some soul (Carla); Celebrities (Boss); Edith Brown (Four Bros); Senator Jones (Shagg);

Informers (Blackjack); Nelson Sanders (Rambler); Gerri Taylor (Mica); Billy Floyd (Arctic); Mystics (Twinight); Pee Wee, Chuck and Huey (Flagg); Joan Baker (Diamond); El Anthony (La Cindy); Connie Questell (Decca); Jesse Fisher (Wayout)

Thanks for having a look anyway. I hope there's something of interest and at the right(ish) price for you. If so, or if you fancy a civilised haggle on a Sunday, then drop me a PM and I'll get back to you sometime today.

I do think that £200 is the going rate nowadays. You just have to wait for the right buyer to see your sales ;-)
