Chalky Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Vinyl Carvers is a company that will cut an MP3 or other type of recording to a vinyl disc, bit like a modern day emidisc. In other words it is not a legitimate release, it's a bootleg.
davidwapples Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 vinyl carvers are a company that make records for people you send them the mp3s and they cut them onto a blank record , sort of like an acetate so you can get any 2 songs recorded onto a 45 you want for about £20 https://www.vinylcarvers.com/homepage.html

murano Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Thank you all! The whole auction looked fishy. Never knew that is legal to sell this on Ebay because of copyright and things like this.

Ebay only care about fee income......................you only have to look at recent changes to feedback system, move towards Ebay Shops and there none effective policing of fraud to get the gist ................still I use them all the time
Simsy Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Thank you all! The whole auction looked fishy. Never knew that is legal to sell this on Ebay because of copyright and things like this. what was the record (out of interest)?
Prophonics 2029 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 what was the record (out of interest)? Mellow Souls With Kae Williams on the flip, 20 bucks all in with fake labels and stains.
murano Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 what was the record (out of interest)? Gladys Knight - No One Could Love You More
Pilgrimsoul Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Can't see the problem if the seller is advertising it as such,so long as any buyer knows what he or she is buying,I don't have any myself but someone who wants a track and can't afford the original would probably be pleased to have it.Oh and don't quote me the "your taking royalties away from the artist" because once that original record has been initially bought the money from any future sales goes straight in to the sellers sky rocket.
Pete S Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 About 4 months ago I sold all of my UK label ska, rocksteady and reggae collection, I would say at least 20% are irreplaceable as they just do not come up for sale, and when they do, I'd never be able to afford them. Thank God for vinyl carvers, my reggae box is stuffed full of copies of the records that I sold now, I make my own labels, I choose my own A and B sides, and I have some great tracks available to play on vinyl, here, in my record room. If you just want the music to play on vinyl like I do, there's nothing wrong with it at all.
