Russ Vickers Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 The Wilson Pickett Rhino Box Set has been mentioned in an earlier thread & wondered what else might be out there too. In the search for original vintage vinyl these kinda things sometimes slip through the radar, so would appreciate any recommendations, must haves & reviews. Many thanks Russ
John Reed Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Its not really a box set, but rather a double CD. In 93, MCA brought out "The Essential Etta James" which was a collection of 44 tracks. The first CD focussed on her Argo stuff with the next on her Cadet/Chess releases. Also on the CD is an unreleased version of "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man". Also is a fabulous version of "I Never Meant To Love Him" recorded in Philadelphia in 1973 which I think is worth the purchase of the CD alone. IMO another fine CD collection.
John Reed Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 (edited) Rhino are bringing out a 4 CD box set of Percy Sledge's Atlantic recordings which include some unreleased stuff. https://www.rhino.com...#whatsInside-cd Edited December 9, 2010 by John Reed
