The Beatles have obviously been associated with quite a few R & B and early soul acts over the years.
But I don't remember ever seeing Chuck Jackson's name mentioned before.
I came across his name in an old Beatles "fan book" from circa 1963 which had been hidden away at my parents' house for all these years.
The book has separate interviews with each of the Beatles and three of the four (John, Paul and Ringo) all named CJ as one of their favourite artists
I don't think they covered any of his records live or on disc. But he was getting a few releases on Stateside so I wonder if it was just a bit of PR for one of their EMI stablemates.
