Guest Tassled Loafer Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I Hope This Is The Correct Place To Post Such Topic, If Not MODS Feel Free To Move It. So I Was Listening To An Online Radio Show Last Night, It Just Plays Song After Song And Doesn't Have A DJ Talking, A Song Came On That I Definatly Recognised But Dont Know Where From, I Whipped My Phone Out And Recorded A Short Snippet. I've Searched The Lyrics All Over Google To No Avail. I Hope You Can Help. It Sounds Mid Tempo, With Male Vocalist, I'm Sure It Features Some Sort Of Pan Piped Instrument. The Lyrics Go Along The Lines Of... "Darling Cant You See, That You Are Love And You Are ??? ????, That You Are Love And You Can See..." Thanks In Advance, TL.

Guest Tassled Loafer Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I'd Say Early 70's At A Punch. Cheers Again, I Really Need To Know.
Guest Tassled Loafer Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 This Is Just A Final Push, Someone On Here Must Know It. Thanks Again.

If the "Pan Piped instrument" that you're referring to is actually a flue then you have been listening to "Battened Ships" by Odyssey from the 1972 self titled LP on Mowest/Tamla Motown. Odyssey - Battened Ships
Guest Tassled Loafer Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Godzilla, Thank You So Much, I Am Literally Chuffed To Bits. I've Been Listening To This 10 Second Snippet From My Phone For Days And Days, Asking Everyone I Meet If They Know What It Is And Finally You've Sussed It. Thank You Ever So Much. TL.

Actually I'm usually rubbish with lyrics, but this one really got under my skin a few years ago and I guess something must have got lodged in the old noggin. A terrifically good tune whicher way you look at it. Mind you, although I can recognise a flute when I hear one, clearly I can't spell it...
