bri pinch Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 A COUPLE OF PROPER DESPOTS GOT A HOLD OF IT RIGHT AT THE END, IT WAS STRUGGLING BEFORE THEN. BRI PINCH

phillyDaveG Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Sold my copy about 10 years ago to a Japanese guy (much to the disappointment of several UK collectors). Never really did it for me, and I thought £1000 at the time was a decent price, little did I know!
bri pinch Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 BASICALLY IF THERE HAD BEEN ONLY ONE DESPERADO INVOLVED INSTEAD OF TWO IT WOULD HAVE SOLD FOR 3'600 USD, THINK THE WINNER, THO PROBABLY ELATED THAT HE GOT THE RECORD STILL MAYBE WISHED HE COULD HAVE GOT IT FOR HALF PRICE. BRI PINCH
Kjw Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Wonder if he'll show the full price on the Customs slip (assuming it's going overseas) Might cost someone a lot more than they thought
Fuzzj Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 i wonder who got it al tell you who didnt bid on it sean hampsey he frigging hates it but you could ask him politley if he bid on it
Sean Hampsey Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Ahaha, to be honest, I thought about buying it just to prevent it from getting played! ;0) Sean
Gasher Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 yeah no way you bought it Ted...it cost more than £100. you'd have wanted it for £40 are you sure
Simon M Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) Ahaha, to be honest, I thought about buying it just to prevent it from getting played! ;0) Sean [/quote) I do like this record , but how about buying Soul Sams copy ,Sean .... Hes been playing it non-stop since 1985 Edited November 15, 2010 by Simon M
Dylan Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I can remember being very dissapointed when hearing this for the first time after all the hype it gets.... but I didn stick it in my watched items just to see how much it would sell for.

BRI PINCH I don't think that the buyer really cares
Ted Massey Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 yeah no way you bought it Ted...it cost more than £100. you'd have wanted it for £40 and that coming from the only bloke i know can peel an orange in his trouser pocket and a Scot as well
Corbett80 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 pretty sure.... Ted . would this buyer have glasses and hail from new york?!
Marc Forrest Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 (edited) would this buyer have glasses and hail from new york?! Yes. I would like to know though who the second high bidder was Seeing the winner and high bidder were the only ones willing and able to bridge the gap between 3.500,- USD and the winning price range of about 7.400,- USD...if it wouldn`t have been for those two high bidders the price would have been 3.500,- USD and we wouldn`t be discussing it at all. Guest lotusland Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 yes, flip is a good club funk tune. it is staying in the USA, and whether you rate the tune(s) or not, the rarity is proven.
bri pinch Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I don't think that the buyer really cares OBVIOUSLY NOT, HE PROBABLY BUYS STUFF LIKE THIS EVERY WEEK BRI PINCH

Glynthornhill Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 just think how many nice soul 45s £4585 could buy instead of this grossly over rated 45 - first heard in 1980' s never liked it and hammered by Soul Sam since then.... he has had his money ' s worth out of it.....

Bidder lists don't register snipes that go in during the last few seconds, where the current price has already exceeded the snipe. So like a lot of these big auctions, there were probably quite a few more fairly high bids that didn't go through.
