Wally Francis Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Trying to find a realistic value for this near mint 1981 Modern Soul Album it features the great Love Magic track on the A&M label.
The Tempest Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Great track and a record that always reminds of Morecambe Pier 3rd Annv , tenner album I'm afraid , plenty out there on evil bay , but an awesome tune that is so underplayed ,
Sean Hampsey Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Love Magic also on 45, incidentally. Clifton Hall classic. :o) Sean

phillyDaveG Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Actually that LP has gone up to $50+ on Evilbay on occassions. Might be the best place to sell it.

Might be the best place to sell it. must have been a mad bidding war.. would have thought £15/ 20 is realistic , definately their hardest to locate ..never seen it amongst collections of their others
John Benson Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 But just how often does the 45 turn up? It seems like ages since I last heard of one...

Glynthornhill Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Sorry for that just to say top track given exposure in the modern rooms i think this would go big. Anyone got a copy on 7 inch? It was big as a new release in early 80s .... at.. Rebels Sheffield, Clifton Hall All Niters, Morecambe Pier.......
Guest Ste Brazil Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I've heard this on Youtube before, thought i recognised the name...thanks for the clip! Ste.
21 Again Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Rebels Sheffield remember L.T.D. being played there. Great venue for modern soul lovers at that time. There were a few cracking album tracks at the time as well as independant sevens.
soulmaster Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 GOT THE LP AND THE 7" GREAT SOUND NOT PLAYED OFTEN ENOUGH, THE 7 CAME FROM CRAIG MOERER FOR ABOUT $12
Djmelismo Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 (edited) In 1980 lead vocalist Jeffrey Osborne, as well as his brother Billy, left the group, they were replaced by for instance Leslie Wilson, the gruff-voiced male lead singer of New Birth. Admittedly, Love Magic is an album you don´t come across as often as the other L.T.D. LP´s, but it spawned two hits, sold ok and as regards the going rate it´s a `cheapie´ to this day. Group split up the same year the album came out and although it is a great album, it doesn´t really sound like the previous albums, because of the lineup changes - personally, I associate L.T.D. with the vocal talent of Jeffrey Osborne which gave the group their characteric sound which can be heard on the records made prior to this 1981 album.
