Considering how Moerer grades his records I bet the 45 will be in what many UK sellers consider to be EX condition.

I don't personally want the record in my collection, but I wouldn't let the grading put me off if I was after it (and had the money!).

Not only UK dealers Seb, I think CM has to be amongst the dealers who grade absolutely strict and very conservative in general. At a guess its more likely to be EX+. Evenif if its only EX I believe 1.875 UKP ain`t a cheeky price to ask for a Patrinell Staten, is it ?

A friend sold this for $2700ish on ebay earlier this year in about the same shape (clean but not mint). This record has been selling in the $2500+ area seemingly forever. That's what I sold my first copy for more than 10 years ago!

there's also a soundfile for people to make up their own mind and it sounds like it has a bit of background to me.

To be honest Craig Moerer aint giving anything away of late so this must be high price !

Having said that it's very desirable to many a collector so who knows eh?

Seems like a fair price to me (more realistic than most of his other prices anyway)

Mr Fingers sold a VG++ copy on here for £2500 last year, so a Moerer VG at £1900 is pretty on the spot imo.

And that's not a dig at Fingers' grading of course. I think evryone on here knows his grading is strict. Was just saying that if you see what Moerer gets for other records it's a pretty decent valuation. (just wanted to get that out of the way )

After being informed of Mr Moorer's copy I initially believed mine was a Vg+ and I'd sold for £2k but, you are indeed correct Dave - it was a Vg++ and went for £2,500 last year.

I've listened to the soundfile posted and, as Nev mentions, there is some backround noise to it although it seems to improve as the mp3 progresses, but the soundclip is just that.. A clip of 1.02 duration only.

Gotta say though - if I had £1900 sitting around I'd defo buy the ebay copy !! But, then - it IS my all time fave toon..

seen two or three in the past for around 4k in vg+ only. CM price not too bad if you ask me.

oh Nev sorry to dissapoint you but .......I spotted Mixed feelings 6 mins after it was listed...but too beat for me..I see he had no reserve but sold as set sale too...so was it you who changed his mind??? as for uncovering sbay ...a $3000 set sale..stevie wonder could see it...hahaha

Well all i can say Richie ...hurry up and get a job, or better still ....save me the bother of scouring ebay and send me a pm when you find the good stuff;)

I had mixed feelingxs in my watched items so did you get it

though about making a cheeky offer myself but decided to sit tight.....

I would have only baught it for resale oldies are no good to anybody

And if you check the guides on the internet eg popsike, collectors frenzy - not that many copies surfaced in the last decade.

However a few locals in Washington DC are probably sitting on copies unknowingly .
