Guest Ivor Jones Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Been wondering about this for a while,[thats what a bore i`ve turned into i`m afraid ! ].......... Can anyone shed any light on how many Demonstration copies of UK Tamla Motown releases were actually pressed ? Also, were there any diifference in the amounts pressed for different titles,[obviously, some titles would have had more obvious hit potential than others]............ For instance, were the earlier Red and White Demo`s pressed in smaller numbers than the later Green and White Demo`s ? As the label gained in popularity, did the amount of Demo`s pressed go up as well ? This may be obvious to the more clued up Motown Collector but i wonder if there are any people who worked at EMI/Motown who could shed any light on the matter ? Anyone know someone who worked there ? Obviously, with the passage of time, things can get very distorted. Thanks in advance, Ivor
