I want to get a CD as a present for someone who doesn't have a record player anymore. I've trawled Google, anyone know if a compilation CD was ever done?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info chaps, such a shame he never did an album. Hope Ady does do one.

I did think about making the CD but it was an idea for a Christmas pressie for my dad and it does seem a bit cheap... Unless i chuck in a pair of socks too?

Ady is indeed doing this, when we put Darrow on stage here earlier this year listening to every track of his from over the years when thinking about the setlist made it pretty mindblowing no-one has done this before, don't need to mention how knockout he was live I'm sure, it really doesn't get any better, our hats truly off to him

Speaking from a Dad perspective I always prefer to see my kids had made me something, put some effort in, shows much more love than just buying something..... and as you say you can always lob in some of the Dad must-have's, i.e. socks, slippers, hankies, etc

Certain Little Something has been my fave DF track this last few years, but his whole 45 output would probably fit onto one cd ( if you leave aside the few not so great tracks- he didn't do much filler - check Dave R's website for a good discography (link below) . Ooh just spotted "Rising Cost Of Love", absolute winner I've probably not heard since Albrighton era ( memo to self, go dig it out of the boxes)

There has been a compilation C. D. done with full permission of D. F.

Rob Messer compiled it a few years ago with every 45 release both A and B sides.

Only produced in a small number (no more than 200 copies I think) but Rob asked Ady for advice as to how to go about making sure D. F. actually received royalties from the sale of the C. D's.

Darrow Fletcher is Rob Messer's favourite artist. So much so he even named his son after him!

The C.D's were actually done more than a few years thinking about it (possible 4 or 5 - time fly's !) as a tribute and for the recognition he always believed Darrow Fletcher should have. At that time most of his 45's wasn't fetching any big money as they wasn't being played out anywhere (except by Rob !)

I've had the C.D. myself since they were produced but I don't know if he has any left. If any one would like me to ask just let me know.

Maybe the right time for a second issue of the C.D.eh??

Or would OCDO be the only way to own it? Lol.

Cheers,

Eddie
