It really is sad to know the society we live in now will never have ballrooms & buildings of such social importance again.

The flicks opposite the Casino .................. that really brings back memories, i saw the Marathon Man there at a late night showing with Dusty & Libby from Runcorn....................as Dusty said .............. its only Winstanley`s spot:D

The Wigan area will have even less venues soon as they are closing at least five in the Borough by early next year.

Monaco Ballroom and Lowton to name just two.

Spent every Saturday morning at the "Nav" as a 12-14 yr old,

Then graduated to the Thursday night scene as I got a bit older,

It was a right of passage for anyone from the Bolton area circa 72 - 77

Remember seeing the "Bay City Rollers" one Saturday night,The Drifters did it a few times also,Not on skates though
