Guest James Trouble Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 https://interface.audiovideoweb.com/lnk/nj4...co.wma/play.asx A great 2 hour show to celebrate our first year of internet radio, chockablock full of rare and obscure soul and alot of drunken waffle.
Guest Johnny One Trout Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 James have you got a playlist mate?? John btw Love the alternate take on "I Surrender" Eddie Holman very nice indeed ;o))
Guest James Trouble Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Johnny, could be tricky this week. Feeling very lazy;-)
Guest Kolla Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 James I handclap your bravery! I mean, no one has seen or heard from Jimmi D since Marco and Rob Holmes appeared on his Soulcast Station a second time. It turned the air in his studio deep blue and the cheeks of listening housewives crimson! Love the alternate take on "I Surrender" Eddie Holman Yep - definately second that one, Mr Nightingale - it's one of Marco's secret gems - of the 'Eddie Holman and the Larks' LP. I always though it was a harmonica in there but Santucci corrected me a while back... it's a Melodica!
Guest Johnny One Trout Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Mmm i just can't get it out of my head now, i've always loved I Surrender from back in the days of the Antelope in Hanley as it was on the juke box there for ages eeee by eck them were't days John
Guest James Trouble Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I've been looking for the slow version since I heard in on Soulcast 2 years ago. I have asked EVERY dealer I have ever met if they have ever seen this 'elusive 45' :-S I think the only person who said they could get me one was a very drunk Dave Flynn. A glimmer of hope I thought. Now two years later I find out it's an unreleases track on an album from the 80s!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! At least I know what to look for now:-)
Guest James Trouble Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Ok, just for Trouty, here's the playlist.... https://www.deepfunk.org/deepfunkradio.htm

Jordirip Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Enjoyed the show James and Marco. Some nice bits of very underplayed soul on there. Jo Anne Garrett and Anna Raye Wright certainly did it for me. Jordi
