Anyone know how much I should try and sell this for:

BOBBY WOMACK THE COLLECTION: 12 LP set running from 1968's Fly Me To The Moon to 1976's Home Is Where The Heart Is. Comes in a box, obviously, with a nice booklet featuring the original artwork for the albums.

I have this box, bought it a couple of years after it first came out and got it really cheap. As a collector I also felt the necessity to have all those albums in original format of course, although admittedly as you rightly pointed out the box contains a booklet with original artwork and sleeve notes etc. Some of my friends bought the box at around the same time, but although I´ve been to many record fairs I haven´t seen it in a long while, even been told that it´s been pretty scarce during the last 20 years, but have no reason to believe that it should be valuable? If I´m mistaken I´m sure somebody will put me right. Collectors want the original albums, and the younger and/or unititiated peeps who want to discover Bobby Womack probably would go for some CD comp/box set or even download his catalogue in digiformat. Although me and most of my friends hold his earlier work in highest esteem, there is no denying that The Poet I and II albums were two notable exceptions, they rank among the best soul albums of the 80´s, and are not included in the box. So all in all, it is a great box you have, definitely great value for money for the buyer since there´s no denying the quality of the music contained therein, the box is also probably quite scarce, but I doubt that it´s a valuable item. Don't sell it, close your curtains, banish the family from the room, ramp up your speakers and listen to every album 3 times in a row without leaving room (the Live album 6 times), then get yourself over to the crossover thread and start your repentance, there is still time yet..........

I haven't got the concentration span to listen to one side of an LP Jock, I'm serious, I only use music as something in the background to listen to when I'm on the computer and my boredom threshold gets lower every day. I can only listen to various artists compilations as they offer something different with each track, I can still just about listen to most David Bowie albums up to 1978 but I'd be lying to you if I said I could listen to a whole Bobby Womack album.

I can only listen to various artists compilations as they offer something different with each track, I can still just about listen to most David Bowie albums up to 1978 but I'd be lying to you if I said I could listen to a whole Bobby Womack album.

If you do decide to take the plunge and listen to one all the way through, mate, I can recommend "Facts Of Life" as a good place to start and possibly end:yes:
