Ian Williams
That you are BORED with what you have? And that you want different 45's or MORE? I wonder if this applies just to those who have say 200 - 300 x 45's rather than those who are blessed with space and money to have 1000's ?? Or do I have it all wrong and actually you love everything you have in your box and do not want more!? In this age of You Tube, CD's and MP3's and so on we can easily listen to and consume hundreds and hundreds of soul tunes in half a day and get access to stuff you have never heard before. So what effect does that have when you look at the few, many, or huge pile of 45's you currently have.? Link to comment Social source share
Modernsoulsucks
I usually look at mine whenever I add a 45 which is very rarely as Im unemployed. I'll put it in it's place and think that's filled a gaping hole and be quite pleased. If I look at them a few days later and all I can see is the other numerous gaping holes and feel it's a wasrte of time and they're all rubbish. Guest Gogs
Go through mine yearly and list them, although i've only got about 1500 at my age i tend to forget what i've got and have to check before i buy anything new, especially with my motown stuff. paultp
I haven't looked through mine for ages, because the last time I did I thought "What the f**k are you doing with all these records? What are they for?". I thought I was morphing into the missus! Yvonne Baker started looking like a new sail for my dinghy. Slippery slope that I might just roll down in the next few weeks. I'm never bored with the records I have - but I always want more, even though I don't get anywhere near enough time to play what I've got. That's surely the whole point of being a record collector, isn't it? Link to comment Social source share

Supercorsa
I sometimes wonder why I bother buying them, as most of the time they just sit in the corner of the room. Seem to get more out of them by burning them to CD's, then playing 'em in the car on the way to work. Then other times get a great feeling of satisfaction of obtaining a record that I'd dreamt about owning many years ago . Then other times I get depressed when I realise that there's records that I want, but would never be able to afford to buy . It's a vicous circle. Damn Those Records! Go for it Paul once you can lose the emotional connection with records they are easy to sell trust me, basically spent the last few years doing this and have no regrets at all, still got a couple of rainy day boxes just in case lol Regards - Mark Bicknell. The Tempest
I have mentioned this before , my mates missus got one the other lads to dj at a surprise birthday party for him ,big marquee in the back garden , blah blah blah , he did three hours of tunes using the birthday boys collection , b-sides , underplayed , etc .... The birthday boy thanked him and commented on a blinding set of records and could he write a few down that he'd played , To say he was gobsmacked was an understatement when he realised the tunes were all his already !! You never know your own collection that well Link to comment Social source share
