Coincidence, I've got a tape of that exact same night and exact same spot from Richard!

Think I might have of sent you it???? My mate did the recoding (Paul Woods), he was a big mate of Richards & was on stage when he was doing it, hence the great quality. Just feels strange to know I was there when it was done. Love the history bit about John & The Weirdest.

No mate, though oddly enough it was recorded by someone named Martyn, Martyn Smith. You can tell it's this recording because of the really strong Black Country accents picked up on the tape

And you very kindly did one for me too Martyn. :D

Loads of other great stuff on it too. I've just had a listen to the HH cd version. Nate Adams has the edge in my opinion with that anguished 'lonely, lonely man I am' bit at the intro...

Weird that, I've never heard the 'Herman Hitson' version being referred to as Nate Adams, ever! Until this thread, obviously.

I keep getting asked to put more live tapes up so here's an absolute belter from the Casino's 7th anniversary on 25th September 1980. This tape is in fantastic quality but it also allows you to hear the atmosphere which is the whole point of these live recordings. The quality dips as it nears the end but please enjoy a tremendous Richard Searling spot, a Keith Minshull oldies spot and a short excerpt from Gary Rushbrooke's spot.
