The Tempests have released their sought after album on CD... I've been in contact with Mr Schrum's grandson who is very excited about this release and rightly so.

It's hard to get the album for sure so for those that ok with CD's this is the perfect opportunity to buy it.

The CD's been available for about 3 years now..

Brilliant album and the only way to get Someday on original vinyl so worth every penny..

Had to reply cause:

1. Nobody else had yet

2. I was on 666 posts and superstitious ;-)

I didn't realise it was available on CD for so long - the Grandson intimated it was only just available! 667 looks so much better :hatsoff2:

I've just this second finished reading the sleeve notes and yes, they're very interesting. May ask the Grandson about the Jackets and dicky-bows smile.gif

Must say though; it's Hazel Martin's voice that does it for me... would like to hear his solo stuff. Anyone got any?

That's on the CD

The sleeve notes indicate that he did more solo stuff so wondered if anyone had them to listen to

Hazel recorded another (solo version) of "Out Of My Life" in the 80s. It is vastly inferior to the original Tempests version in my opinion, but you can have a listen to it here:

You're right, it's nowhere near as good is it - lacks depth and vibrancy.

Was Mitch Ryder aka Billy Lee in the same Tempests ? love to have heard them then

Found this on one of M Ryders sites

The records worked because they perfectly captured the kinetic frenzy of the live performances that had been the group's stock in trade since they first joined forces in Detroit early in 1964. Born William Levise, Jr., Ryder was performing as Billy Lee in a high school band called Tempest before turning heads in a black Detroit soul club called the Village. At 17, he was skilled enough to record an R&B single ("That's The Way It's Going To Be/Fool For You") for the Detroit gospel label Carrie in 1962 and to start making gigs fronting The Peps, a black vocal trio.

Them thats intrested in M Ryder, loads of stuff here
