On a more serious note: there' no hard stats in the article about the growing number of vinyl records pressed, so I'm still a bit sceptical...

in the polls of 2006/7 vinyl sales were up by a staggering 80%, although these figures were hugely due to Indie and D&B artists

preferring to press predominantly on vinyl. These types of bands still prefer vinyl pressing so the figures may still be in this region in 2010

taking into account that the popularity of D&B and Dubstep (which is a predominantly vinyl scene) has rocketed within the last 2 years.

Vinyl never dies but sadly to a lot of styles it don't sell. Indie music is one of the biggest sellers with bands who like to release on vinyl and CD. i buy on vinyl if i can.

According to this article, turntables actually outsold CD players this year, with 77,400 turntables sold against 41,400 Cd decks.
