Guest Andy Kempster Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 has anyone got any good tips and/or tried and tested methods of cleaning up your vinyl/styrene? i'm sure everyone on here has had to perform surgery of some description on a record or and i know i have some that could do with some serious cleaning up but i dont really know the best method what are your experiences? what are you do's? and more to the ppoint what are your don'ts? i dont want to be trashing my records more than they already are.

Guest RICTIC Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 hiya andy just got some top notch record cleaner ,you spray it on and it foams up on the record lifting the dirt and static out ,your records look like brand new , its called ambersil amberclens try that on your tunes matey ktf rictic:D
Guest rosies dad Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) if you have time on your hands i also like the tacky glue method.. I use Aleene's Tacky Glue.. Spread it right on the vinyl, let it get down in the grooves. Let it dry 24 hours then peel the glue off. It comes off in one piece lifting alot of crap outta the grooves. It works! jacob your left with a piece of glue thats a mirror image of the vinyl and out of curiousity i put that piece of glue on the turntable once and it played! Backwards and poor sound but it did play haha. I had to try it. Edited September 10, 2010 by rosies dad
45cellar Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Being careful of the Label ANTI-BACTERIAL - Multi-Action Wipes Clean with wipe, Rinse under tap water, dry with towel carefully.
