Anyone throw a price up for "the Harvey Averne Dozen" Lp on Japanese Fania / P vine.

I have a spare that my mate wants off me

I have no idea what to ask for it 30 ......40 ? I have been told they are quite collectable.

I would really appreciate some opinions as I don't know anything about these Jap releases.

I take it they are proper and licensed releases.

thanks in advance

Definitely properly licensed. There are copies in the Fania Archive of several of them.

I've got the Harvey and the Larry Harlow with Horsing Around on it.

No idea about their value though.

Thanks Dean

With the price and demand for the USA 33 going up and up it must be worth 50 quid I would have thought ??

(The last USA copy on e bay went for over 150 quid.)

Interesting Fania Label on the jap copy - sort of a light green, and the sound quality is superb.

How many copys would have been released in Japan ?

Questions ..... Questions thumbsup.gif

Hi Mossy, what's the print like on the front cover of the LP bold filled in or out lined pink?

The whole cover and the rounds are fantastic, the JAP cover is no different to the USA cover IMO

I felt pissed off paying the money for the USA copy actually

especially when Dean says its that good because it was actually released by Fania in Japan

the sound quality is superb

I have a USA copy now

I feel like a Mug

(And I paid for the privilege)

The bootleg of the LP has a different print on the cover from what I remember not like the CD is this right, just a pink out line on the name?

Jap copy is outlined the same as the USA copy - but the labels are green / gold

vinyl is heavy - matrix number in run out - quality jacket - quality sound - properly licensed from Fania.

I am happy with my USA copy as its great to have the proper original release.

But I will tell you what - this Jap issue comes in very close for me.

Hi Mossy so if that's the Jap copy its in mono where you can get the US copy in both, interesting, would have thought that a later issue would be stereo, so is the Jap copy an early release. :sweatingbullets:

The japanese copy above is a reissue from 1993. The reason it was made available in mono is probably because that is the best mix of the album and the way it was supposed to sound at the time of release. The japanese P-VINE LPs usually use the "proper" intended source when they reissue stuff.

Is this the Scorpio issue? In which case it's not a boot, but a legit reissue.
