Ian Williams Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 It's a crossover soul tune with a male singer and a echo of the lyrics at the end of each line It starts off with what I think is a flute but could be wrong "Books were made for reading (for reading) Hands were made for eating (for eating) Handshakes were made for greeting (for greeting) And time was meant for coming and leaving Chorus But girls are meant for loving - OR theres a mandate for loving" Can you help - its driving me mad - and shazam can't identify it - guess the guys in the shazam room don't like crossover
boba Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 elliot small - girls are made for loving. released on new sound (local nola label) and bang (major label) also covered by a kiddie artist on chimneyville, I'm blanking on the name of the singer, michael something maybe.

Ian Williams Posted September 2, 2010 Author Posted September 2, 2010 michael hudson is the name of the kiddie artist Yesss!!! Cheers guys. Was this a record length of time to identify? - or just a record...
Guest rosies dad Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 i got elliot small a while ago and my wife loved the tune.. then not so long ago i found the michael hudson version on chimneyville and i put it on the turntable and as soon as she heard it my wife said "what the F*CK is THAT???" hahaha... pretty pale compared to elliots..plus elliot small has that NICE flip side... hudson sounds to me like a michael jackson impersonator... jacob
