Pete S Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Remember the guy from over here that I put you in touch with re some dvd's....he had one before he sold all his records We were talking about it a few years back, I personally didn't see it but he insists it was definatley an 'issue'...he thought he had passed it on to Floyd...but I don't think Floyd had it when we asked. Unfortunatley can't give you the evidence...but I trust his judgement enough to say they are out there I dunno mate, there was a counterfeit made to look like an issue, maybe he's getting confused with that?

Guest Bogue Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I dunno mate, there was a counterfeit made to look like an issue, maybe he's getting confused with that? Is that right Pete?....not heard of that one, I was under the impression it had only been booted on some other label using it's cu title? I'm talking mid 80's mind...not in the age of photostat labels. That one must be almost as rare as the real one too thinking about it...as you would have thought somebody would have posted a pic up when this was discussed on here in the past eh. I'll have another word see if he can remember again who he sold it on to.

Yeah they didthat and Howard Guyton at the same time, both as Verve issues but without the silver T pattern on the label, never see either nowadays

Back to the Youngblood Smith...I would be surprised if he had been caught out by that as he was fairly well genned up on his records....but i'll put it to him

Guest s0ul45 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Cliff Nobles - This feeling of lonliness Nice to see this being purchased. I know it's only cheap, but for me this is mind blowing. Gotta be honest, I'd given up in hoping this would garner general appreciation. If you don't know it, just give it a try. Maybe it's just me!

Guest Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 (edited) i must admit i have spent 30 mins tonight staring at refo soul wondering how you place a clip in a post having done it before you would think it would be easy still cant do it so sod it lovley beat ballad and impossible on 45 apparently and thats why it probably unknown to most but I tell you what - If this had been discovered in the 80s - I reckon it would have had some respect I think it is better than lots of the other big Soul mid tempo tunes. but it has remained obscure due to its rarity both on uk 33 and jamaican 45 it is a totally rare and a real unknown piece IMO its just a great Soul record imo Edited October 31, 2010 by mossy
