My guess is the Harvey Averne dozen lp on fania ?

Or the "lets turn on" lp by Bobby Valentin ?

ok - the lps are really hard to get on original, but why were the 45s even more so ?

did New the York Latino hate 45 rpms

why are the great Latin 45s so rare?

just an observation !

I'm pretty sure Black-Out New Sounds Of '70 - CENTURY is among the dearest ones. $3.700 and $5.801 on Ebay earlier this year

I saw Spaced (Milton Wright) went for £506 on John Manship auction last night. Made my early bid seem silly. Is this about right? By the way, very interesting list Sebastian, only a few I know. Dean

That's about going rate i would say although a copy sold for £755 on eBay about six months ago. "Usually" fetches £500-£600.

Tthe California Playboys LP with "Just Say A Four Letter Word" - (I can't remember the title - anybody ???) - I'd say that was reasonably in demand.

New sounds - Turbo LP - (Surprisingly a copy on this site went recently for £250 - I thought that was cheap).

The John Heartsman LP as well pretty rare and sought after, allthough re-issued and also cropping up on the bay now since the re-issue (and the first few $5000+ sales.... )

As one one has commented re prices though I would add a few recent completed sales prices..

Ike Noble - Fresh Start - CONNOWIL £185

Jackson Sisters - Jackson Sisters - TIGER LILY £400

Marvin Holmes & Justice - Honor Thy Father - BROWN DOOR £300

Mighty Ryeders - Spread The Message - SUN-GLO £695

Moses Dillard and The Tex-Town Display - Now! - TEX TOWN £1000

Ricardo Marrero - A Taste - TSG £2855

Seeing as your original post had a latin feel to it, i'll throw in The Bennito Sextet Plus One Lp on Tico, (mines a Peruvian Tico Promo) always hard to get, but price can vary seen them go for as much as $450 or a lot less !, well known in Latin circles, there is a killer boogaloo track on it.

Crikey, I collect LPs all the time - Anything and everything - all the usual Northern items, lots of Latin, Hammond Jazz, etc

But I have just realised I don't in fact know fook all about rare LPs

YET ! biggrin.gif

So all these items are indi 1970s releases ?

Which sort of makes sense as most 60s Lps are on Major labels and are usually never that hard

Right, so the indies in the 70s were trying out more lps than the indies in the 60s

I am a getting it there ?

I love latin stuff - collect anything interesting on Fania - Tico - Cotique - etc

But I don't know the Bennito Sextet LP on tico - I take it is a belter ? Any chance of a snippet ?

Is the boogaloo track called "rhythm n soul" ?

My original post was made as I was frustrated by continuously being out bid every time for the last decade on the Harvey

Averne LP

It just kept on getting more expensive, I kept on missing it, I started having sleepless nights and nightmares about not

being able to dance, it was horrible.

thanks guys !

Matt Covington "Matt Covington" (198? Zip)

Cumulo Nimbus "Forty Seven times it's own weight" (197? Fable)

Danser's Inferno "Creation one" (1975 Thimble)

Tony Foxx "The beginning" (197? Blaster)
