Guest Carl Dixon Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) I just received an email from the above who have announced their indiestore is to close shortly, meaning another digital distribution option will cease for up and coming artists. I used 7digital as an experiment to see how this model worked and uploaded a few tracks there a couple of years ago. Because the site is not very well publicised it seems to be hidden under the radar. However, before I pull these demos down, you may be interested in hearing them, so go here: https://indiestore.7digital.com/cdo/ Also don't forget the vinyl of 'Tell me'/Spyder Turner and 'Suddenly there's you'/Pree are still available at: https://www.funkyfeetrecords.co.uk/ Just search the quick find on the right hand side. Mark has been very supportive with this project and sold a number of the records through his physical shop and web site. He, and I guess others may like to know I paid Spyder and Pree a royalty on sales with these 45's in recent months. Nothing gave me more pleasure to know that the predominate UK sales were responsible for this. Maybe one day I can see them perform the tracks live on a UK stage!! Also for those who like modern Philly, don't forget the Double Exposure/'Soul Recession' and Chiquita Green/'There I go falling in love again' are still available on itunes, Amazon and CD Baby: https://www.amazon.co...925828&sr=301-2 https://www.amazon.co...925860&sr=301-3 I am also in the planning stages of an interesting 5 track digital (possibley CD) release to showcase my writing and arranging skills, with some musical chums of mine. In the first instance this will be to introduce new songs with a view to getting interest from publishers and artists. As the music business seems to be in serious trouble, I feel justified in trying this experiment. The comments on YouTube and possible sales of the tracks will give credence to maybe going up to another level and recording in a studio. Of course I know that sales are poor in general for all the stuff I have been invloved with and probably because I am no record label guro and crap at marketing. But the passion is there, so I will persevere. More news and clips on YouTube at some stage..... Carl Edited August 27, 2010 by Carl Dixon
