Guest john s Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 great looking shop - I liked this too! "Loosen These Pants and Let Me Go - Albert Washington - Jewel Records"
Diggin' Dave Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 OMG beautiful store! I've heard the rumours but never saw pics of the store. If memory serves me correctly this was the one that was flooded right? Great to see him landing back on his feet:thumbsup:
Mike Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 things a bit clearer The recently passed on hermon weems was the person responsible for the boxes and as such led me to highlighting dave weldings obituary as an article can read it via link below, plus added links and images https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/soul-articles/hermon-weems-obituary-r2068
Greg Belson Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 OMG beautiful store! I've heard the rumours but never saw pics of the store. If memory serves me correctly this was the one that was flooded right? Great to see him landing back on his feet:thumbsup: This is a different store from the one that was flooded by water from hosing a fire in the apartments above it. I've yet to go to this location, but Brads store is always worth a visit.
Guest Dave Turner Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) OMG beautiful store! I've heard the rumours but never saw pics of the store. If memory serves me correctly this was the one that was flooded right? Great to see him landing back on his feet:thumbsup: Martin Freeman Goes To Motown, the shop comes in around 1 min in plus Hermon Weems. Search Youtube for PEOPLES RECORDS DETROIT for other vids of the shop and if you want to see further parts of the Martin Freeman then just search MARTIN FREEMAN MOTOWN Edited August 20, 2010 by Dave Turner
Dave Thorley Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Brad's store in one of the best in the mid-west and it really is worth a day there if you haven't been before. You can always find great priced classics, the odd rare thing and the unusual. Secondly everyone that works there are nice people and you can just have fun hanging out, this is a must for any trip to Detroit.

He didn't paint the boxes, though. A guy who worked there called Anibal painted them all if I'm not wrong. Mr. Weems did paint some of the outside signs... And I might be repeating what everyone's just said, but People's is a great store and Brad is one of the nicest persons I've met in my life... Edited August 30, 2010 by Dante
