Chalky Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 >>>>A LIFELINE OF SOUL PODCAST<<<< Well here's my first effort at a podcast! Almost one hour of sounds from the playbox of Andy Dyson, most have been featured at Lifeline at some time or other. Some will be known, some will be considered oldies but others have never featured on either cd or any other internet sites. Obviously approximately two thirds of each record has been used (some longer) to deter the bootleggers etc. Many will know what Lifeline is all about but hopefully it will give those who haven't been to Lifeline a flavour of what can be heard and hopefully it might entice you along. Anyway sit back, listen and enjoy. Chalky Posted August 16, 2010 Author Posted August 16, 2010 Thank Pete Matt, think he put me onto it. It is free but you have a monthly limit...not that it will bother me, takes me a month to sort one out
Val (Chunky) Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Very nice set indeed refreshing.........Quality.............just listening now
Corbett80 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 All fantastic 45s. Ralph Soul Jackson such a good record. Marc F played it recently and it sounded superb. Flip of the Profs is great as well.

Guest Dante Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Great! It's nice to have this stuff on the iPod and listening to it wherever I'm at.
Simon T Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Thanks for this Chalky. Anyone know when and who first played the Profs - Look At You track?
Guest Dante Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Can't download the file, now. I've already subscribed to the server that's hosting the file and can't find the podcast in iTunes... Help, anyone?
Chalky Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 I think, with it being a free account, I've used my bandwidth quota for the month. Will have a look at either paying or another way of doing this, via another site if possible. All I would imagine will have quotas.
Chalky Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Have definitely used up my bandwidth allowance and for what it cost to pay for podcast site (still with certain restrictions to bandwidth etc) I can pay for web space and set up my own site, complete with blogs etc. So gonna get busy with iweb, get it designed and stuff added then upload the lot. Will attempt to put the first podcast in refosoul as I think size wise it is ok.
Mike Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 used to offer podcasting on here 5 or so years ago can't remember what happened with it all- more than likely a mix of not getting used enough and "improvements" good job i suppose as have seen some of these podcasts over 100mb nowadays
Chalky Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 used to offer podcasting on here 5 or so years ago can't remember what happened with it all- more than likely a mix of not getting used enough and "improvements" good job i suppose as have seen some of these podcasts over 100mb nowadays this one was 64mb when first recorded, had to reduce to less than 30 for podbean site, think it was 26/28mb. You get a fixed allowance per month storage and bandwidth, bandwidth gone in 3 days looking to upgrade to a paid for account or set up my own site, whichever is the cheapest

Chalky Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 No because I don't have 'Apple Quicktime' installed (and I don't want it installed) - Firefox No because I won't let it instal ActiveX controls - I.E. Thanks, Chalky. Dowloading already. Last one was available through iTunes as a podcast, this one won't? It's nice to have it like that 'cause you can see the tracklisting on iTunes and, if you don't get through all of it at once, it starts again exactly where you left it. Sure gonna be listening to it, anyways.

Hi Dante It was only available via iTunes when it was hosted via podbean which was the free service and you only had so many downloads so I was restricted really. I've used my blog which I found was the cheapest way to do it. When I get the time I may do a proper pod-cast site, paid for, so can have unrestricted downloads. There was an in-line player with last one I posted on blog, I'll have to look into it. Thanks for listening.
