The A Side's a cracking tune.

I'd probably put this a bit cheaper than £75 to be honest. Seen plenty for sale in recent times.

But then again, £75 for a record you've fallen in love with aint alot.

Hope you get one (and cheap).

Classic 100 Mph Stomper. Can't imagine many of us dancing to 2 or 3 uptempo sounds like this these days.

It was reissued in the 70's with a big A&M printed across the label.

The Original has A&M in a box on the lefthand side of label.

Prefer the slower version by the Ohio Players thats only £15 tops Jason

did that get a single release or is it just an album track?

It got a single release on Compass.

Do not think the actual backing is slower, it is just the vocals sang with a slightly off beat phrasing, prefer this version myself.

yeah think the backing track is the same but i do prefer the slower male vocal too, have to have a look out for the compass release, thought it was LP only:thumbsup:

The backing track on the Ohio Players is really good, but I findt the vocal is poor and weak compared to Towanda Barnes.

Don't forget the version on the LP 'Uptown' on Maple credited to Gloria Barnes, slightly different, but a really nice version - some other tracks on there worth having too. While I'm on can someone remind what track was used as the flip of the 45?

best,

RB

'(You Better) Find Someone To Love' was the flip to YDMI - also on the 2nd issue too..

The Gloria 'Towanda' Barnes LP on Uptown contains, by far methinks, the best version - along with 'Gotta Get Away', which is also a different take to that on the Jo-Mar 45.. NOT an easy album though, and with a three figure price tag !!
