anybody see the independant on tuesday there was an article on stamp collecting apparently it has reached a boom time, with the 40 somethings now having more disposable income and the price of stamps increasing due to this and also the ease of buying of ebay and the internet.

notice any similarities with collecting soul records/northern

it states that stamps are one of the top 3 commodities sold on ebay

sorry for boring you but i found it interesting.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::yes:

I have recently bought about 20 American Football trading cards.

They are all numbered and I manged to get the numbers 1's in say 50 or 100, for 8 of the top ten first round draft picks in this years draft.

How much is the number 1 of 50 for Joe Theisman's Rookie card numbered 1 of 50, I hear you ask?? $10,000

Its the first time I've bought these cards, and dont want to start collecting them (its all a bit too panini for me), but if Ihave snagged a player who goes on to become a great then happy days.

And after all, Philately gets you nowhere.

Do the stamps get booted?

I heard Philately makes you go blind.. :thumbsup:

On the subject of comic books, i collect Daredevil and sold 10 early issues from the early 70s for £120 a while back on ebay. The big money is only in the first few numbers though. I considered dealing at one point but don't know if it's worth the effort.

Didn't a certain ex-DJ/collector sell his records to buy a comic book?
