Very hard act to follow!!! Will try to post this humble soulies mix of underplayed and oldies later. Heard a few people, comment on this mix of music for the night being about as across the board as you would find anywhere.
Vanda Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I totally agree with Geese, I loved the sets from Mick and Chris, some I didn't know but loved and danced to it all the same.... really loved Pyramid - thanks Chris
Geeselad Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 As always I played two shortish spots on the night, this one prior to Mick Welsh lasted from 9.40 ish till 10.10. A mixed bag of underplayed and classics to hopefully get em up and into dancing, with as ever, the in house 'Genuine talc'. Jackie Beavers- Trying to get back to you Tyrone 'wonderboy' Davis- Running a losing race Bud Harper- Wherever you were Jimmy Gilmer- Thunder and lightning Bobby Diamond- Stop Tymes- Love that your looking for Williams and Watson- Too late Al Robinson- Sho nuff bout to drive you wild Terri Bryant - Geni. Will try to post the later spot in a bit, that all for now folks!
Chris Anderton Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Guys, Thanks for the comments on the set. I really had a ball, not done a proper 60s spot for ages and it was great to get the box opened up again. Cheers, Chris. Geeselad Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Here the second bit I did on friday, after Chris's excellent spot, a very hard act to follow! But no the less I played a mix of tunes skewed slightly more towards oldies with a hint of club classics and Motown, thrown in as you might expect for the last part of the night. Not sure bout the order but think I've listed about everything. Anne Sexton- You been gone too long Celest Hardy- Your gone Carla Thomas- Never stop loving you Tammi Terrel- Come up and see me Bobby Taylor- I've been blessed Chimes- Beggining of my life Commands- Hey its love Marvin Smith- Who'll do your running now Charlie Rich- Love is after me Lee David- Temptation is calling my name H.B. Barnum- Heartbreaker Chuck Jackson- Hand it over Solumon Burke- Cry to me Billy Soultree- I'm your man Dionne Warwick- Lonley Little Anthony- Use your head Maxime Brown- One in a million.
