Good morning y'all

Here's this week's batch of randomly selected spares from the boxes that I've accumulated since I stopped selling on eBay. As ever, I've tried to price them to sell rather than sticking a book value on them and letting them gather dust for another couple of years...

...here goes!

THE REAL THING STONE COLD LOVE AFFAIR (UK PYE INTERNATIONAL) M- £30.00

(Unplayed ex-shop stock, in original sleeve. Currently being played everywhere following re-activation at Monumental Soul by, er, me!)

CHARLIE RICH LOVE IS AFTER ME (US HI) EX++ £10.00 ON HOLD

(Terrific old Wheel-era favourite that never loses its lustre. Fantastic Bobby Bland sound-alike side "Pass Me By", too! '1916' written in pencil on label but you can't really see it because the Hi label is black...)

RAMSEY LEWIS PARTY TIME (US CADET) EX £8.00

(Here's something that not many people on here will know this is the original version of Dave and Ansel Collins' "Double Barrell! Only the instrumental, of course, Ramsey isn't shouting "Iiiiiiiiiii am the magnificent!!!" or anything like that. Anyway it's a pretty groovy little mod jazz instrumental in its own right and it comes in its original Chess/Checker sleeve...)

BUNNY SIGLER AND CINDY SCOTT SURE DIDN'T TAKE LONG (US NEPTUNE) EX++ £10.00

(Wonderful, wonderful dancer from Gamble & Huff's pre-PIR days in top condition and in its original Chess/Checker sleeve. Lovely Marvin & Tammi-style ballad on the flip. too. Drill hole through label that catches both titles, unfortunately but you just down see records of this quality at this price every day!)

JAMES CARR HOLD ON/I'LL PUT IT TO YOU (US ATLANTIC) EX++ £15.00

(One of only two non-Goldwax 45s by James. Immaculate Southern Soul, recorded at Malaco, by inarguably one of our music's greatest ever singers...)

AL WILSON NOW I KNOW WHAT LOVE IS (US SOUL CITY) EX £8.00

(Well, it's had a few plays down the years but this copy is holding up pretty well and will do someone a very good turn. Little bit of WOL but compensated for by the presence of "Do What You Gotta Do" on the other side...)

JAN BRADLEY MAMA DIDN'T LIE (US FORMAL) VGish £6.00

(Early Curtis Mayfield classic, of course, on its original label before Chess. Was once on a jukebox - in Chicago, presumably but it's pretty clean nevertheless)

THE VERSATILES YOU'RE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME (US BRONCO) EX £15.00

(Smashing West Coast dancer and the debut single from the 5th Dimension, as they quickly became. Books at twice what I'm selling it for! Couple of small marks on the flipside, nothing affecting play...)

LOU RAWLS SEE YOU WHEN I GIT THERE (Dutch Philadelphia International with PIC SLEEVE) VG/EX++ £10.00

(In the unlikely event that there's still anyone on here who hasn't got it, here's a really good copy with a nice pic of Uncle Lou on the sleeve! Sleeve has no ring wear but it's worn at all three sides where vinyl connects to paper. Vinyl is in A1 shape...)

PHILLIP JAMES WIDE AWAKE IN A DREAM (Jamaica Soul) at least VG++ (see below) £40.00

(It's pretty difficult to make a visual grade on this one because it's on translucent blue-grey vinyl! But the play grade is fine, and it's a fairly unique way to own this classic of the original Popcorn scene, that normally books for much more on plain old black vinyl!)

JACKIE WILSON WHISPERS (US BRUNSWICK) EX++ £5.00

(What can one say other than that it's one of the greatest 60s soul dancers of all time? This is an unplayed ex-shop copy, but it has a couple of light surface marks on it that don't affect play and it's been drilled, but not through any part of the label copy. Come on, you can't even get a round in for a fiver bargain or what?)

TIM MURRAY THINKING OF YOU (US DETROIT TRAX) M - £8.00

(This is the red label pressing, with the 'Motor City Mix' on the flip. More unplayed ex-shop stock at just over half the book value!)

THE MOMENTS NINE TIMES (US STANG) EX+ £10.00

(Perennially popular floor filler, and rightly so! Nice copy with a small tear on the label of 'Nine Times' caused by ham-fisted sticker removal (not by me!). Cheap, too...)

BEN MONROE BROKEN HOME (US DAKAR) EX+++ £8.00

(Still underrated 70s crossover dancer at an almost giveaway price!)

FATS DOMINO IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT LOVE IS (US ABC PARAMOUNT DEMO) M- £30.00 ON HOLD

(Clean as the day it was shipped to the US radio station that it came out of. A small X in biro on the label, but otherwise you'd be hard pressed to find a better one. Still in its original sleeve, too!)

...and that's your lot for this week. Next week I'll be listing up a number of, er, 'non-original'US pressings and there'll be a small section of unsold (or reserved and unclaimed) relistings from last week and the week before, the latter at very reduced prices!

Happy hunting...

UK P&P - £1.00 for first item + an extra 25P per item for multiples.

PayPal as gift will be fine, cheque is fine too (details of both available by PM)

Cheers,

TONY
