Nu Sound Express on Silver Dollar is one of my favourites....

The Heptones 1972 reggae cut on Jamaican Gayfeet is nice, too...

I think paul kyser was saying the nu sound express was the same group as some other group, anyone remember?

Also Notations on Twinight. Stunning version arranged by Floyd Morris:thumbsup: On the other side of "Just You And Me"

One of the most underated and distinctive groups imo

Interesting to read how many have recorded this song.

I first heard it at the Flamingo, an evening there during the week when they simply played records, no live act, either the DJ announced it was the b side of People Get Ready or I went and asked (so nothing changes, still do it now). I thought it was brilliant and went and bought it the next day in my lunch hour at Imhofs in New Oxford Street. It would have been late 65 or early 66, probably the former as it was before I started going out with Lesley.

It's always been a favourite of mine, but not sure if I've ever heard it played out in a club since then.

Thought of another one over the weekend that had slipped my mind, but that I came across again while researching something for the upcoming FAME projects:

The Hour Glass - I've Been Trying (Liberty 56091)

This of course is the group that morphed into the Allman Brothers. It's a decent blue-eyed version.

I've got a Swedish cover version, I'll need to dig it out. Sure some of the Scandinavians on here will know what it is...

Actually, it's Finnish:
