ImberBoy Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Coffee - Casanova One of my all time fave dancers but there are oodles of this track, who was the original and how many uptempo versions are there?
Guest veep1296 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 coffee - casanova - Original as far as I know was by Ruby Andrews on Zodiac that ought to be in every collection..... ...I also have an Inst version on Giant by Wayne Bennett who Ruby said was in her backing group. I played it at a do in Chicago last year..."its" home town.. There may well be another later uptempo version but I simply cannot recollect at the moment.. Regards David
Godzilla Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Loleatta Holloway version too but that's another slowie. Change of heart here Imber me old boy - I remember you slagging disco records a couple of years ago

Regards David there is an awesome long psychedelic version that starts off with ruby rapping on the first ruby andrews' lp
Mark Jones Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) coffee - casanova - Reminds me of my early disco days when i was only 18 at the the local Tiffany's trying (and usually failing) to get laid on a Saturday night in my bowie bags, white socks, patent leather shoes and shirt (with the pin through the collar) and tie with tie clip lol On a more soulful note I adore Ruby Andrews version....so soulful I want to cry when I hear it ! One of favourite cheapies...just not played enough IMHO. And also what about her other take on the track on her Everybody Saw You' Album....again totally totally awesome! (think this is what you are talking about guys) Edited July 21, 2010 by soulechoes

Change of heart here Imber me old boy - I remember you slagging disco records a couple of years ago Godzilla , not me mate. I think you have got me mixed up with some one else. I have always loved 70T's stuff.
