Guest NEV Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Hi all I seem to recall a short while back having a debate about the Jesse Fisher that JM had up for auction ,that was listed as a Promo copy . It was the multi coloured and had promo stamped on the label rather than printed . But apart from this copy i don't think it ever came out on the white label as a promo ?? What about other WAY OUT 45's ......are there many that came out on a proper white promo copy please??
George G Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I think all three Springers 45s exist on demo - two of them are Atlantic distrributed. The Sensations "I Won't Be Hurt" and "Too Shy" exist on demo - black and white label instead of colored. All the MGM distributed 45s (#1000 - #1006, both Soul Notes, both Fred Towles, Sensations) have demo pressings but they are the all multicolored labels with "Not for sale" on them. None of the later 45s have ever been found on true demo pressings to my knowledge. There are some stamped demos and a few acetates. - George
