Guest son of stan Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Just dug this out of my collection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ryzeJbw59Q By the prolific Brazilian artist Roberto Carlos. Sublime. I reckon this would have done quite well on the rare soul / crossover scene if it had been translated into English and covered by a black american artist. I think someone told me that Jorge Ben, "Taj Mahal" saw some action at the Mecca or somewhere. Also, the Spanish side of Two Tons of Love, "What Good Am I?" comes to mind. Any more?
Guest Dante Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) There's a Julio Iglesias track comped in some funk cd. I personally hate those two. There could be loads out there, but most of them fitting more the mod / R&B scene... Edited July 20, 2010 by Dante

There could be loads out there, but most of them fitting more the mod / R&B scene... Yeah. That's just a cover of a Barry White record -. I've got Bruce Forsyth doing "Love's Theme". I meant original songs, not non-English versions of originally English language songs.
Guest Phoenix8049 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Just a thought but what about this version of a famous northern soul oldie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_DOd-rSRIU

OOOh...I quite like that!...no good to me though as I always sing along when I'm dancing and my Portugese ain't what it should be! But you are right...nice backing track with a nice 60's soulful voice could have gone big I reckon! ...then again more Herp Albert domain perhaps? Got a translation? Might record my own version! Done it myself...good old google translator! There could be someone in the world To tell and to tell what he did When he saw that everything had To live and not live If I was not sure what I felt If everything is far from what I wanted What do I need to know What do I need to know When we look at it is too late See the marks that were left behind on the way And then still have to live Looking say everything with nothing to say to say There could be someone in the world To tell and to say what he did When he saw that everything had To live and not live If everything I did think about being happy one day If time passes and my life is so empty What do I need to know What do I need to know If I could turn back time (To be happy) I need to go back in time (To be happy) If I could turn back time (To be happy) I need to go back in time Edited July 20, 2010 by soulechoes

Guest son of stan Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Just thought of another one. There's a right 60s stomper by the great Michel Polnareff. that I've got. It's getting late now but I'll try to locate it and post up tomorrow.
