vnicepce Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Re:how to win friends, influence people and sell your records.-yeah, I concur-why don't we all send him/her an email, asking him/her to send us a sound sample..if its like recent US "rarer than RHShit '45s" its a pile of..... ..... nothingness can anyone tell me what holly shit looks like by the way?-very spikey..tends to cause severe injury to the Rectum... ..and its like Father Christmas-only comes at Christmas....
jazzyjas Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 That's "Tell Me Little Girl" by the Spices, one of the holy grails of doo wop. I have the song on a CD, but you probably won't like it. It's a ballad. No danceable quality to it. I'm not big into doo wop anymore, but I'd definitely say "holy sh*t" if I ever found a copy. It's one of the rarest of the rare in the doo wop world. Ged Parker Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 this actually is a top tune not northern by any manner of means but still great. I'm not sure I'd pay that for it tho but i'm suprised there are no bids from the doo wop fraternity.
Marc Forrest Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Thats maybe because that scene is already where the Northern Scene may be at in five or ten years time...the (old) hardcore collectros have it already or do not care anymore to get such a 45 for 1500 and there are no (t enough) young collectors around who care for 1. original vinyl 2. rarities3. big money to pay for such records in question. just a thouhgt anyhow and if this 45 reaches 2500 I am proven wrong anyway
Guest Dan Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 wasn't suggesting it was a northern record it's listed as doo wop after all it was more the rather aggressive way of listing it that tickled me
Guest mattmale Posted July 29, 2005 Posted July 29, 2005 I'm not sure what Doo Wop is. Anyone got any sound files for examples? Or direct me to a site with some? Is it stuff like Hank Ballard, Larry Birdsong and early Five Royales Stuff?
