Guest Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) Can anyone tell me anything about this lovely Detroit singer and 45 All I know about "Magic City records" is that they bought out the Correctone studio / properties and continued making fantastic music. I have only ever had 3 tunes on this label - Thelma Lindsay, Mad Dog & the pups and this Bonnie Brisker 45 Any more recomended 45s on the label ? Who owned this label ? I have seen the Bonnie Brisker 45 on a few playlists and bloody good too!!, Is it an old spin that has been revived - or is it a tune that has been bubbling away on tapes for years? I must admit - I only got this 45 recently and have no idea of its history. What a beautiful Detroit mid tempo tune !!! bonnie brisker - someone really loves you guess who) - Edited July 15, 2010 by mossy
Jumpinjoan Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 So Much Loving is the side for me. Versatones is great too!
Reg Scott Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Great double sider Mossy as Joan has pointed out. As far as I know it's a tune that has been played but it's probably more of a 'collectors tune' but nevertheless relatively well known. The key thing with Magic City records, especially Bonnie Brisker, is finding them in any kind of decent condition - I was lucky with my copy but many are pretty beaten up both label and playing surface so finding a nice copy is a real bonus. I'm sure some of the Detroit experts on here can fill you in with more info on the label itself.. ATB Greg.
