Guest Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 As far as I am aware. all Tangerine 45's have gold paint on them!? link certainly a lot do but I'm sure that's not the only label that the mystery of the gold paint happens. Anyone know why ? surely they can't all have belonged to a careless painter !
Gene-r Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 (edited) As far as I am aware. all Tangerine 45's have gold paint on them!? link No. I've had two copies of Dust My Broom on the orange Tangerine label, and they've both been spotless. Should really have sent it back and complained that it didn't have a paint splodge! Not even seen a spoldged copy of The Vala-Quons. Perhaps the splodge was the label owner's autograph? (ooops, did I say that????) Edited July 28, 2005 by Gene-R
Sebastian Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Gold paint (or other colours) was used as an alternative to making drill holes in records that record stores couldn't send back to the distributors.
