Pete S Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 The other night I was going through a load of old dvd's and found one called "Incredibly Strange Films presents Tripe X Trailers' so I thought this might be a laugh, anyway I put it on and this music came on and I thought, that sounds familar, turns out it was The Right Kind by The Jaybirds (UK Sue) but with a male vocal! I didn't know one existed, does anyone know who it is and on what label?
Pete S Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 So nobody's got any idea about this one then?
Jerry Hipkiss Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 So nobody's got any idea about this one then? New one on me Pete - I immediately wondered if there might be a Jackie Edwards connection because of t'other side, but I'm intrigued!
Pete S Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 New one on me Pete - I immediately wondered if there might be a Jackie Edwards connection because of t'other side, but I'm intrigued! It's definitely American Jerry - not a UK production at all. Very mysterious.
Jerry Hipkiss Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 It's definitely American Jerry - not a UK production at all. Very mysterious. Definitely - as listings give both sides of the Sue single as UK productions, and they sound that way as well...
Catseyes Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Great record Pete 2 or 3 playing it now is it on Sue records I can't find anything about a vocal just the one with somebody help me number 4013 a must have.
Benji Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 the track Pete mentions is just a short cut of the vocal version. The full 2+ min version is unissued as far as I know.
Soul-slider Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 The Vocal is on this LP... And here it is... 2
Benji Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 @Soul-slidermany thanks for that. Didn't know it was comp'd. 1
Dis57 Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 The Lp just list the artist as The Jaybirds - The Right Kind
Mick Holdsworth Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 Didn't realise it was on this Lp either. Well found. Always felt it was simply the Jaybirds. 1
