Supercorsa Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Joy Lovejoy - In Orbit No Mention of the fact that it's a recent re-issue with Doug Banks on the other side.
Gene-r Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Looks like they done the same thing with "To Win Your Heart" by Laura Lee as well Ian. Looks like a hard vinyl booty......... Being as they're really Beatle specialists, wonder if they're actually aware? Gene
Supercorsa Posted May 24, 2004 Author Posted May 24, 2004 Being as they're really Beatle specialists, wonder if they're actually aware? Gene Gene, would that be "The Bootleg Beatles"? Gene, are you going to CSC on F riday? Gotta go, my son wants to look at The Tweenies on the computer!
Gene-r Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 Hi mate, Can't do CSC on Friday I'm afraid - but I'll be at Soul In The City on Weds 2 June. Hopefully see you there over a beer or two. Gene PS - not the BBC site with all the lyrics to the Tweenie's tunes is it? Don't ask me how I know tho!!!

Supercorsa Posted May 25, 2004 Author Posted May 25, 2004 Joy Lovejoy - In Orbit - reissue on Ebay! Can you believe that someone has bid/paid £47.99 for this re-issue that you could pay £6 for off dealers like Roger Stewart's Boogaloo Records. Mikey, hopefully I'll bump into you there (CSC).
Dave Abbott Posted May 25, 2004 Posted May 25, 2004 Joy Lovejoy - In Orbit No Mention of the fact that it's a recent re-issue with Doug Banks on the other side. Sorry, have i missed something. Did this not come out on Checker??
Guest James Trouble Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 These are the people I got caught out by, for Alice Clark - You hit me. :-( SuperCorsa, I will be at CSC on Friday. Come over and say hello. I am the short fat Paul Scholes looky likey. Mickey, if you want an original demo, I have a spare. Not sure what it goes for £100ish?
Gene-r Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 JTrouble - Mint demos sell for £150 these days. Dave - Yes, Joy Lovejoy sure was released on Checker!! Gene
Guest James Trouble Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Well, if anyone on this board wants my mint- original demo copy for £125 inc postage email me jamestrouble@hotmail.com
Dave Abbott Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Dave - Yes, Joy Lovejoy sure was released on Checker!! Thanks Gene, didn't think I was going mad. Although the seller did not state this to be a re-issue I have no sympathy for someone who will spend that much on a 45 without doing a little bit of homework. Not least cos Manships banging them out at £10. Madness.
mischief Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 Can you believe that someone has bid/paid £47.99 for this re-issue Whats an original go for now?
Headsy Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 have seen it at least once in the last few months at £30
Headsy Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 just a couple of quick points......Nottingham eh ? not selectadisc people is it ? also there is a guy in hamburg selling the Fi-dels as an original on VJ, I thought the bona fide original was on Keyman ??
Guest LeoLyxxx Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 just a couple of quick points......Nottingham eh ? not selectadisc people is it ? also there is a guy in hamburg selling the Fi-dels as an original on VJ, I thought the bona fide original was on Keyman ?? It sure is, on Keymen that is... best Leo
Headsy Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 the same seller has put another copy of Joy Lovejoy up after selling the last one, starts at £14.99 for all you people who like a bargain .........Am I in the wrong job here ?
Supercorsa Posted May 27, 2004 Author Posted May 27, 2004 They've put the following on the description: RELEASED ON US ARGO LABEL - UNDER THE LICENCE OF CHESS RECORDS I understand that Argo was part of the Chess Group, but I doubt these are genuine releases. Mind you, I could be wrong. What amazes me is that someone has already bid £14.99 for it. Then again I sold a similar reissue copy of Eddie Parker's, I'm Gone b/w Love You Baby on Ashford to a chap from....Detroit, for a tenner!
Supercorsa Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 Can't believe the sellers now got an original up on Ebay for £50, after selling a reissue for £48. Original Copy For Sale
Mike Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Hard to keep up with all these "look a likes" currently being pushed out Was a bit suprised/jacked off to see that September Jones has had the treatmemt on a kapp wd look alike with rubin on other side the other weekend
Headsy Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 just like the old days, unfortunately. same with me for Collins and Collins, luckily I cancelled the £150 buy when I heard it was getting pressed.
Supercorsa Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 Hard to keep up with all these "look a likes" currently being pushed out Was a bit suprised/jacked off to see that September Jones has had the treatmemt on a kapp wd look alike with rubin on other side the other weekend I can understand people getting hacked off with these reissues/boots, if like a lot of the people on here they spend hundreds (possibly thousands) of pounds on the originals. Unfortunately I have to admit that for somebody with very little spare cash, like myself. It's probably the only way I'd ever own them on 7" vinyl, unless of course I win the lottery. Although saying that I'd still only pay £6 for them off somebody like Roger Stewart's Boogaloo Records. I'd also like to say that recently I have not been buying so many, due to suggestions given to me on this forum, for cheap originals.
Guest micksmith Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 BUT ARE THEY BEING PRESSED IN THE UK. IF SO YOU HAVE 3 GUESSES ABOUT WHO'S DOING THEM. 1st CLUE-NOT FROM SOUTH OF LEICESTER. I'LL LEAVE THE GUESSES TO YOU?.
Dave Rimmer Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Is the second clue...Not from North of Leicester Mick ?
keith k Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 just like the old days, unfortunately. same with me for Collins and Collins, luckily I cancelled the £150 buy when I heard it was getting pressed. i'll do you a real collins & collins for £150 , if you still need one . k. email , kkeddie6@tiscali.co.uk
Headsy Posted May 31, 2004 Posted May 31, 2004 it was a while ago ,too late now, played out and pressed, the kiss of death I'm afraid., money went on more deserving cases ( more records !! )
