Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Hi all, As some of you will know, me and some of my Ace collagues have just come back from another tape copying trip in the land of Southern Soul. One of the nicest things we found was a 4 track tape by Tina Bryant, recorded at Fame's short-lived Memphis studio in or around 1971. The tracks do not appear to have been recorded for Fame directly, and may well have been scheduled to come out on a label that's eaither called Tomorrow's Sounds, TST or Tomorrow's Sounds Today, judging by the matrix numbers assigned to the tracks on the box. Googling Tina has allowed us to establish that she was once a member of Memphis' Teen Town Singers, but not whether or not she ever had any singles released. I've also asked a number of deep and southern soul aficionadoes about the tracks, and have benn met with unanimously blank looks so far. Can anybody throw any further light on the obscure Ms. Bryant? They're great tracks and we can't license and/or release 'em until we find out who owns 'em, so any practical assistance will be welcomed...
