Soul Source Works!

I hope this post can stay in all about soul for a little bit because too be honest it could go in free basing, people with soul and feed back but I want to ad a little bit about how Soul source transcends the internet and becomes real and part of peoples lives.

Meeting fellow Soul Sources is always a great opportunity to just say hi, swap stories and to comment on the many debates here on this most excellent forum.

Last night I took a break and rode out to Killamarsh near Rotherham for a scooter meeting and it was here that I met fellow Soul searcher Ray and we got talking about Northernsoul and I mentioned that I haddent heard the tune playing at the pub we met at.

Today I log on and ray had PM'd me with the track! Gary Puckett - Lady Willpower, never heard of this before but that is not the point.

Soul Source is a superb means and widens both musical knowledge and it also gives another slant to socialising, thanks to mike, all the mods n every one who contributes!

Soul Source rocks!

Has any one else met others due to Soul source?

After moving to the USA in 1987 I lost touch with everyone and all things soul (if only I had known I would have a record collection to dream of)

Reentered the soul world about 6 years ago hooking up with Dave Moore and the Hitsville Crew.

Met tons onf new peeps.

I still go to Seattle every year wth Dave Bywell and we have a blast.

Dipped my toes into Soul Source.

Chatted with Munkin and Munchkinette and when they cam to Florida we got together (what great people), met Ang and Paul Barnes when they visited Florida and laughed our way around Animal Kingdom and Sue (Monique) and Chris when we went to a Doo Wop concert in St Petersburg with the Munchies.

In Septemeber I am coming to the UK and going to Rugby to meet a whole lot of new people who I 've never met and can not wait to meet. All the Ladies and LadieBoys from SSLAAS, Webbydublin who I could have sat behind on the bus for years as he lived in my neck of the woods as well as many other luvverley reprobates

I feel very fortunate that I have met and chatted and been helped through an incredibly hard slab of life with fellow Sourcers.

im amazed youve never heard this as it was probably a top ten hit after young girl in the late sixties and often features on radio 2 and other sad bugger channels, i could never imagine it played at a soul night but i do get your point, no-one knows everything and to hear something for the first time is still the biggest buzz i'll ever get out of the scene!

Lady Willpower made top 3 in the pop charts about '68 and was the follow up tp their hit Young Girl which made no.1.....Cracker of a tune....Great vocals....came out on CBS I think,Simon...

Young Girl,it is a great tune,of more innocent times,I dont think he would get away with the lyrics nowadays

:hatsoff2:Simon your right SS rocks  its a fantasic resource the knowledge is unbeatable the memories it evokes are tangible the debates are exellent .

One of the best features for me is Refosoul that helps me play catch up with the scene and reafirms my faith when I stumble upon something I have,nt heard for years .

I have met a few people from of here thats allways good .

Through Soul Source I was able to get in touch with Alan Pollard he was my best man when I got married in 1978 and I hadnt seen him for fiveteen years or so and from an initial PM we regularlly e-mailed and kept in touch I am so glad about that so thanks to Mike and the team .
