Love random on the ipod, however it threw a few tunes up that got me thinking there's a lot of Northern out there which has a Gospel/Christian message.

Not being a believer myself, but still got me thinking about other tunes out there of similar vain

Some of my favs I have are;

  1. Kenny Smith - Lord What's Happening to your People
  2. Rodd Keith - Like the Lord Said
  3. Idris Mohammed - I'm a Believer
  4. Kirk Franklin - Looking for You
  5. Marc Evans - Reach Out For Love
Only a few I know but classy none the less sure these can be added to!!!!

There must be quite a few. Off the top of me head --

Mary (Love) Comer - Come Out Of The Sandbox

Richard "Popcorn" Wylie - Rosemary What Happened

Whether or not this fantastic track was inspired by the movie Rosemary's Baby or not?

The lyrics tell a story and gives social comment.

Tony Clarke "(They call me) a wrong man"

Surely a perfect story teller?

 Another top choooooooon - me thinks there could be a half decent compilation coming out of this lot!!!

some may say this is more a Funk tune but I love it all the same: Rev Jamel & Bob Johnson - Did you See Those Men / J & S

can anybody confirm this is the same label as Johnnie & Joe - I Pray To Keep Our Love Strong / Let Your Mind Do The Walking Fame???

WAR, Edwin Starr.

Its quite apt for today with Afghanistan.

It is. Just goes to show how many of us actually read the posts

People Get Ready by The Impressions can be heard as a social commentary or religious song.

Wade In The Water is a very popular negro spiritual so it can be considered as gospel, although there's a pretty nice story about it being some sort of code for black slaves to escape and become free.

James Brown---King Heroin

Creations--Just Remember Me

2 off the top of my head
