Kris Holmes Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 so I got a 45 in the mail today which has been cracked in a way I've not seen before. It is cracked at the inside of the runout groove around about a quarter of the edge of the label. Looks like the doing of a brutal pressure stress from somewhere. It is still playable as the crack doesn't affect any of the playing surface but it does have a pretty epic gently rolling pressure warp, looks like the stylus is riding a wave when it plays. annoying, I've emailed the label to get a replacement copy, but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else encountered a pressure crack such as this before?

Anyone else encountered a pressure crack such as this before? Yep, I found a copy of Jimmy Helms on Symbol last year that was cracked about 75% of the way round the run out groove. Almost like it dinked! Crack followed the rim of the label exactly. Weird eh? Regards, Dave
Pete S Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Had loads like that, right around the label not affecting the play at all
Guest smudgesmith Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Mint Ray Pollard on Shrine exactly the same.........................
Kris Holmes Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 ha ha, totally like the beginnings of a massive dink job.
