Singers Who Mention There Own Name In Their Song

Recommended Posts

I've got asong by Jackie Wilson & Lavern Baker - Think Twice, but it is XXX version, they both name each other frequently in the song but it's pretty serious swearing, so if your not easily offended I can send you the mp3. it seems to be an out take from the session when they recorded the real published version but this is a joking/crude version... be warned.....

for anyone who doesn't know it already, it's on youtube here:

The Supremes- "Back In My Arms Again"

"How can Mary tell me what to do when she lost her love so true

and Flo, she don't know cause the boy she loves is a romeo ..."

That's Diane talking about Flo, NOT Flo mentioning herself.  Shouldn't count, I would think.

:P  Yep, but only by 2 years Garry.

Agree, a suberb song. Played it out once and the promoter came rushing to the decks with "Is that Sam Hawkins?".  I thought he was taking the p!ss - due to the name check just having been sung.
