Jaco
Got Cliff's yesterday (with some neat artwork) and gave it a spin on the road today. Di'Ann Carlton,Johnny Green,Alicia Myers amongst others - just tremendous stuff. Also got chance to give Mark Speakman's an airing and without doubt one of his tracks is an early runner for favourite so far - "Realistics - Putting it down (to the way I feel about you, girl) - sublime and as sweet as it gets in my opinion. Sean I know this thread is about the CD swap but following up Sean's shameless plug I ordered both of these from HMV a few days ago. "I Get My Groove" wasn't yet in stock so will be sent on when it is but "Love & Jealousy" came through this morning. What can I say apart from absolutely SUPERB! As the cover states "The Deeper Side of Southern Soul" it really lives up to the claim. As you'll all know compilation CDs are often made up of a few excellent tracks surrounded by fillers, but not in this case. Kudos to both Sean, Ian and anyone else involved for this excellent CD. Yes, we all have a lot of CDs to wade through but £4.99 for "I Get My Groove" and an even poxier £4.49 for "Love & Jealousy" and both being post free (HMV) they're a must. . Ady Pountain
Yep definitely a great swop. I was playing Harry Battensby's / Sean Hampsey's and Dylan's CDs while driving around Chicago last week and they certainly made sitting on the 1-294 roadworks more pleasurable than usual! Must give a big thumbs up to Harry's CD. I came home hoping that The Four Tracks was the flip of Charade and The Kool Blues the flip of Try Love Again and bingo they were! Now all I've got to find is Queen Esther Marrow! Once again thanks to all the contributors for the wonderful music, Ady. Link to comment Social source share
