Vampisoul has put out a new compilation I assembled of killer R&B sides originally released on the King and Federal labels from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s. It's strictly legit "all tracks officially licensed and procured directly from the master tapes. It's called "Teach Me to Monkey" (one of the standout tracks is "Mom, Won't You to Teach Me to Monkey" by a precocious child named Little Emmett Sutton). It's available as either a 20-track CD or a beautiful box of 10 slick reissue 45s! Both packages include rarely seen photos of many of the artists and a little essay I wrote.... https://www.amazon.com/Vol-1-R-Hipshaker ... B003BQVDC4

Volume 2, "Scratch That Itch," is in the can, and we're working on Volume 3!
