Guest rosies dad Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 something i havent come across too often, 45s of live recordings.. i have one that i really enjoy William Valentine doing a live version of "mellow dreaming", the young holt tune, but the valentine version is superior imo.. You can hear the audience, sounds like a supper club or something, clanking silverware and glasses.. are there many other good live 45s? Do you like them? Hate them?
Douglaschip Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 TSU Toronados - Nothing can stop me - Ovide - not a bad live version of the Gene Chandler classic.
Guest Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 George Benson - On Broadway love it Clifton hall biggie drifters do it in the same style on a 7ts lp.
Guest Matt Male Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I like live versions. Les McCann and Eddie Harris - Compared to what, absolutely brilliant. Gill Scott Heron - The Bottle, superb.
Prophonics 2029 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Val ~Martinez Pay Day and quiet a few B-sides Village Callers - Evil Ways and Teardrops Every Step. That Turley Richards LP has quiet a few live tracks on it. Edited June 10, 2010 by Prophonics 2029
Guest Dante Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Otis Clay - A Nickel And A Nail (Echo) Don't know if it's live or just has some voices and applauses overdubbed.

Guest son of stan Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I've got Lyn Collins / James Brown on a Japanese 7" doing a live version of, "This Guy /Girl 's In Love With You". Nice sound. Am sure it probably came out elsewhere.
