Blimey..............new one to me...always loved the trk on the LP and often wondered why it never got a 7" press as it's obviously THE standout trk on that LP - wonder if anybody going to the World Cup might have a look in the (humungous) Koh-I-Noor record/s store in Jo'burg for a copy or two?

Impressive piece...MRez

Had some serious offers and I've sent out soundfiles today to everyone who asked for them, which was a fair number of you.

Hopefully I'll be putting the 'sold' sign up and locking this thread very soon!

Not that I've seen. Working for a Safa bank, I've had a hunt whenever I've visited and never seen hide not hair of this one. Although there are some nice SA releases out there...

I hope someone does get lucky if they do go out there.

You been round the flea markets there too John? Just mind-boggling what I found there in the late-1990s - not loads of Soul but tons of US Jazz / Funk etc etc - and of course, great Afro-Beat stuff - picked clean now but was a very rich digging area back then...I don't think I ever paid more than 8 rand (£1-ish) for anything....MRez

I have been to some very dodgy places...and alas they've come to nothing. I don't know what it was like in the past, but these days you do have to sift through a lot of clothing and jewellery to get to the people selling bric-a-brac, but the Rosebank Market is quite interesting. I think over the years and with the World Cup coming that they're more geared up to sell tourist trinkets and other stuff.

It was a goldmine 1999 to 2001 - I went 3 times and shipped back over 1000 records each time - the shipping / custom charges were waaaay more than the actual records themselves..........

Wish I could pop back over again now...........M
