Guest fuzzyjon Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Hello everyone I'll shortly be taking a visit to the old hometown of Doncaster, and I was wondering if Snowy's "Backtrack Records" shop is still there on Copley Road? Cheers, Jon
Chalky Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Don't think it is, think he sells from home now. Not 100% mind so don't take my word for it.

Guest fuzzyjon Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Thanks everyone. I didn't get a chance to pop down Copley Road last time I was there..... real shame that it's closed though :-( Yep, Doncaster was pretty ropey when I lived there 12 years ago but now..... JEEZ!!!!

Guest Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) OH! THOSE MEMORIES BRI PINCH SUNDAY CHILLOUT@HORSE AND GROOM, 20TH JUNE, EAST LAITH GATE, DONCASTER. Shortly after he closed the shop , I spoke to Bill ( Snowy ) about the reason for him doing so . His answer was simple : it was down to the rising cost of rates , rent , and utility bills . He had been successfully selling on eBay for several years , and in the light of the economic constrictions , it was the logical step to ply the shop's trade on the internet . Backtrack was one of the " last shops standing " : it will be missed . Malc Burton Edited June 2, 2010 by Malc Burton
